Here's a question for anyone who wants to play: If you could suggest ONE song that I should listen to (hopefully available on iTunes) and add to my hoop class mix, what song would that be?

mmmm... depends on your dance style preferences......

I can, and will dance to anything.. the point is to expand my horizons :) My feedback from a workshop a couple weeks ago included a lack of classic hoop bands (String Cheese, the Grateful Dead).. and I just added my first country tune, so I'm hoping to get a wider range of exposure so I can have a better mix for my participants!

I've seen you dance.... You have great rhythm. < I'twould be fun to dance with you>, But you have to have an idea......Xta_G wrote:I can, and will dance to anything.. the point is to expand my horizonsMy feedback from a workshop a couple weeks ago included a lack of classic hoop bands (String Cheese, the Grateful Dead).. and I just added my first country tune, so I'm hoping to get a wider range of exposure so I can have a better mix for my participants!

I must say that I am most comfortable in 4/4, or 3/4... but I have a neat song by Carlos del Junco which is in 5/4... and I'm open to being CHALLENGED.. (while I might not pass it on to my class, *I* will enjoy the exposure)
C'mon.. can you not name a few songs that you CANNOT sit still through? Something that makes you tap your feet, shake your shoulders or hips, or even jump up and DANCE? :)
One of my favs is by Bassment Jaxx - but it is a mix with an almost gospel feel, all about JOY! Love it, can't sit still...
Thanks for the OJ, DD... well-loved treat as a kid was mixing the OJ from concentrate.. but having a spoonful of the frozen stuff to munch on first :)

.........Pissing and Shitting in the Wind...
Hi ya rock...
just walked in from a 15 hour day working the ASCAP Expo. But the upside is, I met some of the most incredible people. I was mic'ing all the speakers so I got to personally meet people like Terry Lewis (of Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam), Tom Petty, John Rich (of Big and Rich) who happen to be I think one of my favorites of them all, just a down home fella. The funny thing is I meet so many famous people that I had no clue who they were, it almost felt like a burner moment because where I was you really had to be somebody. If you go to the website and look at all the great people who were on the panel in the main room, you can see the line up and I met and spoke too them all.
