Reminder: Aura Man July 29-20

Post by misha50 » Sat May 13, 2006 12:06 pm

Aura Man is just a couple of months away, July 29-30. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet and mingle with burners and like-minded folks from across the Midwest. Whether you like Freak Parades or drumming, electronic music or the Mel Torme Happy Hour, pig roasts or pancake breakfasts, big fire (Fire! Fire! heheeh) or nude swimming (heheeh… I saw naked people) then you need to get your backside to Aura Man. Join us at Sun Aura, 350+ acres of campground, sand dunes, forest with trails, and the largest outdoor pool in northwest Indiana. Oh, yeah, and big fire and naked people.

This year’s theme is In-Between Dreams. Look by the man for the dreamsticks to add your dream to the man before he burns. Bring art to display on the beach. Bring food to share at the Pig Roast potluck. Try out your Burning Man costumes before you get to the playa. Enjoy hours of music by the man before he burns. Bring your drums. Bring your fire spinning or breathing gear to entertain the masses before the burn.

240 miles from Ann Arbor. Hour-and-a-half from Indianapolis. Hour-and-a-quarter from Chicago. Moments from the playa.

Let us know if you are planning an event or activity and we’ll add it to the schedule or other things to do page.

July 29 – 30. Register soon.

Important hint: The event is free, but you have to pay the regular campground entrance fees. Singles pay the same price as male/female couples. So find yourself a friend of the opposite sex and get in for the price of a single. But ya gotta arrive together.

37 Days Until the (Aura) Man Burns

Post by misha50 » Thu Jun 22, 2006 4:27 pm

Just 37 days until we eat pig, dress up, show our art, share our dreams, drink dreamsicles, get a massage, swim in an Olympic size pool, find weird things in unexpected places, spin fire, drum, and dance by a 16’ foot man before we burn him down!

New events have been added to Aura Man’s schedule. There is a scavenger hunt planned and, back by popular demand, is the Round Robin Massage.

If you have an event you’re planning or a chill space or sound stage you expect to set up, let me know so I can add it to the schedule.

If you haven’t emailed your reservation info yet, please do it soon. It makes it lots easier to plan when we have accurate numbers.

Also, if you’re going too need a space larger than the usual tent or camper, for a sound stage, display, or whatever, let me know how large a space you need.

Aura Man is July 29 – 30 at a clothing optional camp in NW Indiana.

Deadline Friday for Aura Man Registration

Post by misha50 » Wed Jul 12, 2006 10:33 am

If you are planning on attending Aura Man, Friday is the deadline for registration.

If you’re not registered, we can’t guarantee a camping spot close to the action. Also you won’t receive whatever “perk” they give the participants this year. In the past, they made checkout time on Sunday 2 p.m. instead of noon, which is great because the pool is very inviting!

To register, email me at mjbricka (at) comcast (dot) net. Include name(s), arrival and departure, tent or RV, any other space requirements if you have a shade structure, theme camp, or art installation.

Remember, hetero couples get in for the price of a single, so if you come Saturday and leave Sunday and have a tent, the total cost is $35. That’s $17.50 each. Not a bad deal.

A few of the events / activities: Freak Parade, Mel Torme Happy Hour, Craftie Time, T.I.T.S., potluck, scavenger hunt beach party before, during, and after the burn, round robin massage, etc…….

All that is in addition to the huge pool, bocce ball, volleyball, and horseshoe courts, sauna, hottub, darts, pool, slot machines, and 350 acres of camp, woods, and dunes.

Get all the details at:

http://www.geocities.com/auramanburn

Hope too see you there.
