Showing movies at Burning Man: HowTo

is a do it yourself drive up, drive in, drive away movie system. The author is thinking urban, so he lets people know where he'll be, he drives up to a flat wall at some warehouse, and projects the movie onto the wall. Sound is broadcast on FM. We don't need no stinkin warehouses on the playa, of course, so roll your own screen. Heck, project it onto the dust in the air.

If you don't want to do it yourself, here's an outdoor theatre set up you can buy:

or http://tinyurl.com/zz7al if that one breaks.

It's called an Outdoor Entertainment Island. "Designed utilizing marine technology to withstand adverse conditions of saltwater, sun, wind and cold. Hose down to clean." We've got plenty of hosers on the playa, so that should be no problem.

You'll need power with either system, but the Outdoor Entertainment Island comes with a 42-inch plasma TV, so bring more power. Oh, and bring seventeen grand.

Ain't technology grand?
