Gooood morning folks :)

I would offer to make espresso... but I don't know how. :( OJ?

And, what's with the bacon? Is there a story behind it, or does the playa experience just really benefit from bacon?

I've never worked in the food or beverage industry.. always felt like I was too much of a clutz and would dump trays of food and dishes on people! 17 years of working in swimming pools and the occasional beach, plus bits and pieces of fabric and yarn stores, and now professional hooping.. aside from running with scissors, and bonking myself in the face with the hoop, much less klutz-restricted :)

I don't know if there's one particular story behind it, but I do know that when you're out there getting up early working hard and drinking harder the one thing that will make up for a lack of sleep is a good hearty breakfast. I've always loved bacon, so when I went out for my first work weekend and stayed up till 4 am partying and then got woken up to the breakfast bell and the smell of bacon at 7:30 am, well...I put in a good day's work that day, and stayed up till almost 3 am and was awake before the breakfast bell next day.

And then there was that Flying Sex Pig Disaster Fundraiser thing with all the bacon fat and spare change and what...that was pretty cool.

A sewing machine, really...........but do you know how to use it? I do have a coffee machine, but I have to read the directions every time I go to use it. Pitiful, I know. I also have a zester, but it's still in the packaging and there are a couple of pots I haven't used either.

It's true Xta_G (P.S.) Good Morning Sunshine!) and DD- Bacon, and pretty much any meats (jerky, sausage, etc) take on a ravenous repore later on in the week, and I think it's the body's way of saying it needs proteins and some fats from the days previous of lost liquids/calories/vitamins. Same thing with fruit. Come Wednesday or Thursday, a slice of mellon or a cool orange slice is heaven on Earth...

Sugar. I'm off to get this nature party started...nothing like some fresh air, some landscapes, and a few cold ones to remember what relaxation feels like. Keep it fresh, might try to be in later. Jennifre's (MellotonG) show is tonight on KEOL, might pop up there and work more on my painting. Drink life like a fruit smoothie :D See Ya...

Mm.. bacon stories :)

Another year I'd be game for joiing the work crew for pre- and post- work.. but along with taking care of my virgin self this year and not over-doing it, I've got work booked right up to the Friday before the event, and will be running out of EI just as September gets started..

(If you're wondering, Employment Insurance is something we pay into all our employed lives, so that when we become unemployed due to something out of our control, say, harrassment at work, we can get financial support while looking for other employment or becoming self-employed)

So.. need to plan to rush back into the city so I can pay October's rent!

General travel question: if I wind up bussing or flying into Reno, and got myself to one of those water-buying places sometime on Monday, would I have a pretty good chance of finding a ride out to the Playa for me, my water, and my gear to get dropped at Bar Camp? Or should I really make firm plans with someone before I get out there?
