Howdy Box, Karine..

Day was okay... sunny, nice people in the course I was teaching, got to teach some of it in the outdoor pool.... but I also got to watch all the folks playing waterpolo without me, and continue feeling miffed that I'm going to miss the next five weekends due to teaching various things. Ah well.. "Burning Man and September Rent!"

On the good side.. went bargain shopping and found some deals on both practical AND whimsical stuff :)

You? What was exciting in your day?

That's some wallbanger. I suppose it was driven by harvey himself too!

Maybe one a little less potent.

Roomie Lindz says she heard it in the ceiling this afternoon... Yick. I'm still boycotting the bathtub until they stop squealing in the walls beside my head. <shudder>

Those sections will eventually (well, hopefully by Monday) become the flared side-panel in a pair of pants I'm going to sew as a kid-appropriate hooping costume (as opposed to all the fishnets and skanky stuff I'm putting together for adult-appropriate hooping :) )

Damn! I just realized I meant to pick up some puffy black paint to outline the stars today... ah well, tomorrow...

All yellows and some reds are "transparent" by nature- so before you paint those colors, you may want to paint the star WHITE first...

(it will save you from painting layers and layers of a yellow just to find out the blue will NEVER disappear).

sorry * painting tips are in my nature *

Heh. "too late now" :)

I'm prepared for them to take a couple layers... figure the texture will give the hoop some good contract to climb on it way up and down from my ankles and knees.. (ob, my poor bruised ankles.. just been learning ankle hooping this past week, ooooowooowooowooowie.)

How's the apprenticing going? The stuff you two are making looks more elegant than hers, but my sis has been doing some neat metalwork/welding stuff in the last couple years, more of the scavanger art than glam stairwells, though..
