I've always been partial to firemen. You know hot, sweaty and willing to run into a burning building to save your life.

Quiet in here, Dawg. Ahh, thank you, BoxB, I'll take the dark beer. Good to take a load off. Here's my story for today, kids, called "How Smart is that Rat?". Mrs B and I were closing the store, doing those little end-of-day chores, when a rat ran up to the front counter. The back door had been open most of the day to let the breeze through so it must have come in from the alley. We (the rat and I) looked at each other and it ran to the back. "We have a rat, fuck!" I said, and it takes a special situation for me to talk like that to Mrs B. She tossed two twenties at me and said, as she left the store, go buy and set traps. Now I know rats are smart and, as I walked to the back to put some things away, I was just irritated about this and how useless a trap could be. But,
I
did
not
know
how
smart
this
RAT
was. When I reached the back, there was the rat, pushing at the back door, trying to get out. You can be sure I opened the door, "much obliged" he said over his shoulder as he headed back to the alley. Live and let live, I say, as long as he lives outside and I live inside. I put the $40 back in the till. Smart rat.
