I only WISH that person sleeping over there was me...

My sleep patterns are SO screwed.. woke up at 5:30am for NO reason, was too awake to go back to bed.. but I'm going to try it now. Today is actually a day of no work for me (aside from answering emails, researching stuff, prob popping in to the yarn store where I teach and design for.... :) ) so I don't NEED to be up right now. <yawn>

<totters over to whoever the lump under the NEB is, lifts up a corner, snuggles in, pulls NEB over head>

<untangles self from BoxB and crawls out from under the NEB>

Aaah... .sleep :) Such a good thing. NOW I feel reaedy to face the day, and have decided on my BurningMan activity of the day: compiling list of toilettries, and going SHOPPING for them! (just got paid for all the first aid stuff I've been teaching in the last bit...)

How's everyone's day?

And Zoom, what's the new pic? Can't quite tell...

Coffee!... mmmmm I'll take a cup. I just rolled in from Red Rock City, a hour and a half outside of LA 20 min past Mohave. It was dry dusty and quiet, just like I like it. I have been there since Sat. and will head back out Thurs to meet up with the Internet Satellite guy. At that point, I will have 1.5 mps internet connection, direct tv (155 channels) and all the desert you can traverse.

luckily,

the rebbi

I may look tough
And I am
I’m as tough as they come
I am also fragile
So many aspects
Am I unknowable?
To myself it seems
Always surprised
At the soft underbelly
Not wanting to let it show
But there are those who know
Beneath the strength
The crust that is real
Lies another reality
I don’t often reveal
There is nothing I’m not
I’m everyone you know
And all the things they hide
The parts they never show
I’m the ugliest ever
And the beauty of all
In me it’s all ok
For me there’s no hard call
I accept all the colors
All the dreams
All the fears
There is no right or wrong
No correct way to appear
As long as my spirit
My heart in my chest
Finds some way to be seen
Some small way to express
All the things that I feel
Even though they seem to conflict
Or cancel each other out
Inside me they all fit
Perfectly
Just like you

Light-years in length, this cosmic tornado is actually a powerful jet cataloged as HH (Herbig-Haro) 49/50. Though such energetic outflows are well known to be associated with the formation of young stars, the exact cause of the spiraling structures apparent in this case is still mysterious. The embryonic star responsible for the 62 mile per second jet is located just off the top of the picture, while the bright star seen near the tip of the jet may just by chance lie along the line of sight. HH49/50 is about 450 light-years distant, located in the Chamaeleon I molecular cloud.
