any major theme camp need somemore help ?

Post by rei_dishon » Sat Jun 10, 2006 3:14 am

so, you know - there are all these types of people who come to burning man and there r these "working ants" who just come out of the blue and give you a hand.

i was planing to go this year with DPW but right now they r fully staffed so if you need an early help on the playa - buzz me.

here i am - making it from across the globe (israel) for the fifth time (yeah) and want to help someone to prepare/put/make/burn/drive/install some stuff on the playa or maybe be4.

me and my mates were helping "lush" 2 years ago - had a blust and joined the family so i was thinking of doing it again but no more lush so i was looking for another major theme camp.

i'm an industrial design student so i'm skilled with a pair of good hands and nice personality :)
i'm going to be in boulder, CO in july and around the bay at the beginging of aug.

drop me a line

That's a nice offer. You're not the isreali who was helping me clean up my burn barrel last year are you? He was a nice guy but said something that will forever last in my memory. I told him that the embers were still burning and that we had to wait for them to cool down before we could transport them in a cardboard box. He said (and I shit you not):

"It got to cold for things to burn last night. There's no worry."

I mean Isreal is a desert, for the most part. You guys burn stuff over there right?

sheesh I'm still laughing at that.

Like Smoochin?

The SmoochDome could use a few more members to round out a mostly New York based camp. We've got about 15 people so far (including an English guy, a German, and an Australian) and are looking to max out around 20-25.

We're not a "major" theme camp, but we've been around a few years. And since we're creating a chill space / lounge, there's not a ton of work, but there is setup and break down of a 32" geodesic dome (using Cristo's The Gates as the fabric for the shade structure, if you can believe it!!) and we've got to gather around 10-15 sofas to fill it... And lights, etc... There's no work during the week of the burn though.

We're part of New Amsterdam Village, it's a nice group... You can use google images to find smoochdome photos from 2004. http://tinyurl.com/kj9nz

Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you're interested.
