When were you gonna get yer WERK on?

So you're going to Burning Man this year. Or maybe you aren't, and you would like a place to get a bunch of fun projects done. If you're in PDX, maybe we've got the options for you. On Wednesday evenings this summer (6pm - 11pm), we'll be working at 11th and Skidmore.

Dates:

June 14th - First Party, Newbie Meet N Greet
June 28th - What's YOUR project? Planning and arranging for bulk buying
July 12th - Cars - get your mutant vehicle and your car ready to go to playa!
July 19th - Bikes - Give your bike some flair!
July 26th - What's YOUR project? Bring it outt and make some progress!
August 9th - Costumes and clothing swap.

Things you can do here:

1) Welding - we'll be welding the wings on the Dead Letter Truck, as well as a super-industrial carties for a variety of camps and non-burner tribes.

2) Wood-shopping - need a box for your burlesque act? Suddenly decide that you need a paddle for your Domination Station? We've got a fair number of saws, wood, and drills. Bolts and Screws are in high demand.

3) Car Prep - taking your car to Burning Man? One entire work party will be devoted to changing everyone's oil, and we'll throw another one after to change it again.

4) Fire Performance - A couple of different fire troupes will be practicing, so feel free to come out, work on your fire tools, practice, and plan for your projects. This is more _rehearsal_ oriented than performance (such as say, a SpinJam).

5) Costuming - starting in late June, we'll have a couple of sewing machines. One entire work party will focus on costuming and clothing swap.

6) Bike Flair - get yer bike on! We always have the ability to fix bikes, and one party will focus on getting everyone's bike covered with flair. You can also leave your bike with us for us to transport it to playa at the bike-focused work party.

You can work on any of these things at all of these parties. These are FREE events, our attempt to help you get your projects done.

I'll see you there!

I gotta get going on my project and there's nothing happening down here in Eugene. Sure, it's 100 miles, but it's worth it. I can't build a 4' jack-in-the-box in my already-cluttered living room with no workbench!

Damn... if it (or I) were more local I'd love to go. Sounds fun. :D
