Please, folks, humor chicken and go post something in his silly essay project. Don't post any criticism of him, though, as he's a little sensitive about such things.

I think if you post that Burning Man hasn't "tipped" yet, but that there are lots of "sales people," "mavens" and "connectors" there (don't worry, it's just marketing clap-trap from that stupid book he's obsessed with), and that Chicken is the one who can lead them into taking over the world, he'll be pleased. So get posting, guys!

I am not in the least bit interested in leading larry's flock. I have bigger, better point to make. One that is bigger than you or me. I'm sorry, I mean Larry or me. I can't explain, I'll let everyone else explain for me. I only want there to be some experimental actions in this community of experimental ideas. Don't worry, Darryl, we will let Larry win in the end... we always do. No one wants his job, after all. We only want him to do his job better. What is his job? Well, he's a visionary... right? We could help him relise his visions, if he would only tell us what they are!!! I can't hear him over this awful music.

Why would anyone want to respond to you? You're so thin skinned that when things started getting controversial over on Tribe you wiped out the entire Borg2 Tribe. No warning, no nothing, just pfft! It's gone, it's like fuck you it's my way or else.

At least over here you have no power to delete anything other than your own posts and that's for 59 minutes.

As for the Borg 2 Tribe ego tripping wholesale wipeout of anything you disagreed with I thought that was pretty chicken shit way of doing things....and frankly I don't care if you like me airing my opinion on that or not. And come to think of it...I understand now why you only have 39 posts here...many of them are not so memorable. You can't control things here...just like you can't control Cacophony either.

I also wonder how much more effective Borg 2 would have been had it had effective leadership...one that didn't have such an egomaniac trying to dominate everything. It had so much potential....

I didn't wipe the borg2 tribe. I didn't lead borg2. I got an arts council elected. When things got argumentitive, I stepped down as moderator of the borg2 tribe. Things got so heated, my sucsessor killed it. After much deliberation. This would mark the 4th time that particular tribe got wiped. That is kinda how that was supposed to work. An experiment, not something for longgevity. I never really had anything to do with the inner workings of it. I just got an art council elected. I couldn't be on the council, as that would be 'controlling' or whatever. I admit freely that I don't play well with others, I'm an idea guy. I do well on my own. I can not and do not want to control cacophony. I only want to illuminate the path to what I firmly beleive is a more sustainable and more durable and sucsessfull path. But if you would like to just hate me, I can be an excellent enemy! My value in that area is unsurpassed.

Anyone else here or is it just this guy?

There's been some discussion going on in various forums and that post of yours will hopefully go a very long ways on silencing some even mouthier critics than myself. I got tired of hearing about it so I decided to fire that post out there....it was very harsh but it hit every one of the questions being asked. So did your reply.

I do apologize for the tone of it...and hopefully a few people (HINT!) will now have a big swig from the shut the fuck up cup.

People don't really understand this but this internet typing thing is a way to exchange ideas. Everyone gets so testy... it's funny. There is no value here. You can't get anything. You can't win or lose. You just post your idea and comment on someone else's. If you start screaming someone deletes all of it. Start over. Jesus, it's just words and ideas. Once you read them they are done. Whatever. That is what this thread is about, the essay project. Just a way to talk about a certain thing. Just like Borg2. And to a certain extend cacophony was just a way to have an idea and put it to action... but it mostly specialized in bad ideas. The idea of cacophony that I keep REMINDING people of was the fresheness. That people were trying things out. Now it's like just new people doing our ideas. As tradition. Kinda weird. I've tried anger, gentle, ignore.... all the options. All of it's weird. It's a weird place, this Earth...

Anyone else here?

well, i am sure thats what it might be for you but you dont really define what things mean for me. you can influence them, and to a certain degree you might be able to shape others understanding and values.

but i remember a story of yours (i think it was yours, if not please tell me) about some effigy thingy of the man, or maybe it was the man in trashed form, or.. yeah, whatever.. it was in pieces and either you or someone started burning or throwing it in the trash or.. ? but some hippy-touchy-feely type was upset at how you were treating their 'sacred totem' and even set aside the head for protection from destruction.. or whatever.. i probably have a lot of that wrong anyways, but hopefully you get the drift.

perceptions, ideas, understandings, values... they are not always shared or even communicated that well, so i woulnt go around here saying people dont understand what something means. people should be empowered to make and break their own meanings.

The story that I wrote was one day me and John Law were unloading a truck for BM on site. Some guy started to help us. I would hand stuff off the truck and we put it in prospective piles. One of the things we were unloading was the man. He is prebuild in like 6 pieces. I threw John an arm and it hit the ground and the hippy guy kinda gasped. We knew. why. I handed him the head or something and he placed it gently on the ground. John kicked it. Started jumping up and down on a leg screaming: "It's fire wood!!!!" The guy walked away.

Why that is relevent here is beyond me. But that is the little story. That was over a decade ago.

It's a good story and I see the relevance SP is trying to create with it from here.

Here's my question. If you admittedly don't understand what SP was talking about how can you possibly submit that his message was "idiotic?" Seems to me that before one could evaluate the idiocy of an idea they'd have to know what idea they were talking about, yes? I mean, an advanced lecture on any given topic is going to be all but incomprehensible to those who are not into the topic. But does that mean the lecture is idiotic, or that the listener who does not understand, but still calls it idiotic, has just put a label on themselves?

nope, not arguing at all - just disagreeing with you and thats my point. what is 'no reason' to you or me might be good reason to someone else.

whats relevant about mr.hippyguy is... you didnt really agree or share his beliefs. mr.hippyguy couldnt understand why the head was just a head of wood and paper. its why he gasped at the action of 'defiling his totem' because it meant something more than just wood and paper.

we may not agree with it, but thats one of the useful things about this medium of communications. and just like the head, people obviously see this forum differently than you.
