Speaking of pickles, yesterday when I was talking to an idiot about digital cameras at work, he kept referring to the resolution rating as "megapickles," despite my constantly correcting him gently by using the correct term in my next sentence. He never caught on. And he was trying to act like he was a digital imaging expert.
People! If you want to know how good a camera is, do not read Consumer Reports! They don't know dick about cameras, and just trust the stats the manufacturer publishes. Read Pop. Photo or Pro. Photo's reviews, and ask a photographer.
"I read that the D50 is a great DSLR." WRONG!
"Consumer reporst gave this sony P200 a best buy. 7.2 megapickles for only $229." Sure, and it's an even better buy right now because I have three of them that have an open box discount, each of them having been purchased and then returned by an unhappy owner.
I need a drink. Who's slingin'?

Hi Mojo!
Speaking of prep...who is keeping inventory of who's bringing what? Especially the alcohol. I had noticed in one thread that someone could get liquor at cost but I am not sure if that is still the case.
Sput sent me a spreadsheet on what was needed...he said he sent it to a few others too...but I haven't heard of any real planning on this subject.
Are we going to have everyone bring a little of this or that or should we put a select few people in charge of liquor???

The real answer is - BOTH. Check in with one of the other "bar on playa" threads or over on the other board. I'm planning on bringing a lot - it will never go to waste. (Can always be donated to DPW on the way out for their clean-up crews). There seems to usually be way more booze than mixers though so I try to bring twice the mixers I think I'll need.
Fruit juices are GREAT mixers out there - cranberry and pineapple especially.

Wait! Where's everyone going? Who is staying to have one more margarita with me? Well...one more for now at least....
---Okay, I'm currently going through all the threads and listing who's bringing what and who's in charge of what. I have a little binder now with tabs labeled the following:
Kitchen/Cooking/Cleaning
Liquor/Mixers
Bar Construction
Participation/Duties
Events
I'm such a geek. I just need this to keep things straight in my wee brain....

Liquor list was for the Wheel if booze so I would know what to put on it. Since we are going to a dry ersase board for the wheel I do not need it. But it would still be nice to have one so we all don't bring the same thing.Bin Noddin wrote:(thought some kind of a liquor list was started on Tribe)
