Bad ways to start your day? I can top ya.
Tuesday morning: I get a phone call that a good friend was killed in a building collapse.
Thursday morning: I'm 4 cars back when a young woman crosses the highway on foot. She made it across the Northbound lanes, crossed the jersey barrier in the middle and made it about 2 steps across the Southbound lanes when she got hit by a pickup. She didn't make it.
I'm not posting this to gain sympathy but at the same time if you can top having a bad fucking week like this one..post it so I can put this hellish week into a proper perspective.

Well how about I post some fucking good news instead of the fucking bad shit. I found my fucking ticket, and I cleared the last set of hurdles to get my house.
The minor bad news...I get to repack everything and move again. I hadn't even unpacked everything from my last move so that will help. Along with that the schedule nightmares that had me wondering if I'd get to go to BRC this year have pretty well been resolved. I can't go for a full week but I can make it a Wednesday through Sunday stay so 4 days is better than nothing!
Shit, I just realized it's only 2 months away...less really. I gotta get busy with stuff!

Box Burner, just a maybe suggestion. In L.A., if you work it right, you can take your car to an auto shop at a J.C. or a trade--tech school. They fix it for parts charge. It's worth a fucking checkout. What's the fucking problem with your jewel ?

Edit, I just read about the starter problem in "Bar" Espresso dude hit it right on the head. Starters normally hang up only if the pinon jams against the ring gear. The purpose of the shims is to give more clearance so that the pinion teeth don't bottom out into the valley between the teeth in the ring gear,,,and jam.
Rarely but occasionally Fords have a feedback problem in the solenoid energising system. They hold themselves energised. You can check for the problem fairly easily.
Detach the solenoid wire from the solenoid. Reconnect it with a jumper wire with 2 aligator clips. One end of the jumper connects to the solenoid terminal. The other end of the jumper wire connects to the end of the wire that would normally attach to the solenoid terminal. Crank the engine over. When it sticks in the start position,,,,disconnect your jumper wire from either end. If it continues to crank, the problem isn't electrical.
Often , you can loosen the bolts on the starter 1 turn or so and this prevents it from jamming,,,only as a test.
I changed both of these gears on a Cummins diesel a couple of days ago. The parts were $180. Fuck, fuck, fuck

My vacation request got suddenly, unexpectedly approve, despite my lack of senority! Now how the fuck am I going to get my disorganized self ready to go to BM for the first time?!!! Plus, it seems likely I am going to have to arrange moving in the meanwhile (and I haven't finished unpacking from the last move!)! Maybe I am fucking finally clawing my way up from poverty to lower class!
