Nobody can bring their dog, but anyone can bring their kid. That's fucked up.

I've had to pick more dog poop up off my grass than kid poop. For what it's worth.

Ron,

C'mon dude. Can we talk about a level playing field here? I mean, if dogs had thumbs to wipe their ass I think we'd be seeing more kiddie turds on the playa than doggie sausages.

Can we be real here?

If you're picking up dog poop, it must be worth something.

You're absolutely right, Badger. And you know this can only mean one thing. Affirmative action for dogs. Seems to me that chia-guy's butt wiping brigades have got to be hunted down so they can accept their canine companion for the week and get to wiping. It'll save me a lot of work, I can tell you. Not to mention righting a biological wrong. It's not the dog's fault they are lacking thumbs.

There's got to be a way to work the existence of god into this somehow....

All I can gather from this is that if I want to be naked in front of a dog, BRC ain't the place to go. Now, some twit's kid, that's different.

whats fucked is i cant sacrifice either. i kept trying to tie someones little dog to the man for the burn last event, but some random idiot would run up and free him. finally when the burn started i was able to get one last chance, but those godamned self-rightous rangers stepped in at the last minute.

If don't really think you want to be naked in front of someone's kid, be they a twit, or (as has been my experience with meeting people with children on playa) thinking intelligent folks.

And I think I am understanding your point that weirdos might be enticed to come and wiggle their wanger in front of kids if they know they stand a chance of getting away with it under the guise of being at Burning Man. And I also assume that you are attempting to point out the further possibility of nudity (or otherwise) being regulated under the guise of "protecting the children" at an event that one chooses to bring their kids to. It should be noted that I don't agree with more regulations, be they towards nudity or kids. I feel things like this are generally best left to the community to police out for itself.

By and large, it has been my expierience that the people of BRC balance these two out somehow. And I've seen a couple of times when someone had a situation placed upon them that they were uncomfortable in (or were in fact touched in a sexually unwelcome way) that the people in the general area picked up on it and banded together to stop the perp and get the Rangers involved. I trust parents to make sensible choices and I trust the community to look out for all participants... in case some choices are less sensible than others.

Like it or not, kids are at Burning Man... that's the way it is. I have said before:
simply put, If you bring a kid, be prepared for them to see crazy stuff. If you do crazy stuff, be prepared to be seen by a kid.
Perhaps debates like these indicative of growing pains of a evolving community?

Kitty, kitty, kitty
You are too utterly sensible. Logic, reason and balance aren't going to take you anywhere. Get your jet pack on, and fly through the roof like the superhero you are.

The emergency roof access hatch still works. Please use proper ingress and egress points so everyone can spend money on resupplying the bar and not repairing the roof. Thanks.

Thanks Pinemom

It was strange to get up this morning and not have a message from him in my inbox. We had a huge float trip planned for the 3rd weekend in July and every day we were working out the details, canoe rentals and stuff...

Everyone around here is stunned

It could have been worse, I had another friend who barely made it out the back fire escape.

HA! I got my kid from someone with a cardboard box standing outside teh supermarket.

Turned out to be a real annoying little bastard, so I sent him to the pound.
