even better is that it's looking like not much is going to have to comme together: the one house that was burned down was fully insured.

i'm sure, though, that if you send money there, that they'll find some use for it. ferinstance, i'm going to be back in town sometime this week, and they could probably stand to be subsidized in buying me booze...

Stuart, though the air's much better today, and hopefully will only continue to improve, it's a really bad idea to be exercising outside right now- the particles that get in your lungs will stay there for the rest of your life!

It's so close now, I watched the fire on the hill just across the valley. There's houses collapsing in little black clouds as the structure gives way.
It stuns me how people can be so disconnected from this, as if it were a football game and not potentially the end of my home.

Tawny, I hope the fire doesn't reach you, that's terrible. I know this is really obvious, but you should be packing the things you want to take with you into your car now, just in case you need to leave quickly and are reading this...

I was able to see the sunspots on the sun yesterday morning due to the smoke filtering it. It's a really strange thing to be able to see the surface of the sun.

Why are you complaining about the burn?
