Right on Doc, cannot wait to see you on-playa again this year. Not sure if I will have treats to bring to the meet and greet but at some point you and I will sit and have a few or ten glasses of Blanton's.

BARBIE COLLECTION UPDATE #2: I would like to thank for, I believe, it's the third consecutive year the fine folks at Planet Tarwater for their contribution of a classic Barbie book! It's one of those that a second grader might read, so it's just about our speed. So far, one Barbie and one Barbie book!
Doc... how'd you do at the Midnight Sun Marathon... I was busy catching reds to bring down with me for the BBQ at camp...
am arriving SF this Thurs and will be in Sacto and visiting old friends on the weekend and then in Coloma the following week for a whitewater clinic...
had a great chat and brew at Humpies...

JR, I ran the fastest marathon for me in the past 9 years. I beat the woman I told you about from Mexico by 2 minutes! Age and cunning over youth and beauty indeed. When you're in Sacto (if it's on a week day) call me at (800) 458-6006. Yeah, it was great meeting you and having you part of our experience.

WARNING: SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION AHEAD!!!
Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro again offers the spectacular BDC&WB hats ($15, embroidered) and shirts ($20, includes your name over the right breast). Yeah, yeah, I know, no selling on the playa, which is why we're doing it here. We are also interested in shirt bartering with our fellow camps. All proceeds goes towards the wine. Our colors on the shirts are burgundy and gray, and they come in regular T shirts or wife-beater. So be the first one on your block to get one! E-mail me to place your order! Satisfaction isn't necessarily guaranteed, but it is implied!

hi Doc,
when I left Anchorage it was 52 and drizzle.. arrived Sacto and was blasted with 112 temps !!! needless to say, the first few days were quite a sweaty experience... the whitewater rafting clinic in Coloma was great, had a fun week on the south fork of the American River.... the crowds were AMAZING, have never seen sooo much skin on a river (not that I am complaining....)
I was going to go to Gerlach after the clinic to look at the empty playa but was sidetracked by old friends and never made it... guess I'll see it in a few weeks in all it's glory....
sounds like you had a great time at the Marathon, the last laugh as well as a new, fast time...
we'll have some tales to swap over cold ones at BDCWB !!

Hay JR, I'm in Honolulu right now after having spent five glorious days on Maui with my two daughters. They're down on Waikiki beach right now trolling for unsavory characters. Hell, who isn't? You're still planning to be at BDC&WB, right? How many in your party and what name(s) do you want on your shirts? I'll be home Wednesday for about a week, then off to New Orleans for a few days, then back. Let me know!
Hope you are putting the bag-o-barbies to use
I dropped off a bag full of barbies last year...

BARBIE COLLECTION UPDATE #3
I would like to thank Bin Noddin for his generous donation of four (4) Barbies to our little "holiday camp". I was going through the Barbies that were deposited at BDC&WB from last year, and I have counted 117 so far. If my math is correct, we're up over 1,100 Barbies. The people at Newcastle Storage keep wondering what the weirdo is doing with all of these dollies. If they only knew.

Yay Doc!
Doc you are awesome! I don't log on much these days. It's really nice to see how active you are. Now THIS is community!
It was damn good seeing you on Maui! I'll get in touch regarding our trip to Gerlach soon.
Hey! I want a shirt! Do I Paypal the $20 or should I come up with a good trade? Hmmmm ... (scheming) I was an XL, but after healthy living on Maui for 9 months I'm an Large now. Sweet! Unfortunately (or fortunately) my wife could care less whether I'm fat or chubby, so whatever! I still get laid.
