What a load of pretentious crap.
Here's a thread asking for a source for mannequins. Someone who has them replied.
So the post is deleted and that information is gone.
This is helpful how?
Just more in the slow drip drip drip dumbing down of BM.

Right.
It not "a" thread. It's my thread.
I started the discussion. I'm the one looking for mannequins.
If someone wants to come in and write a message saying, "Hey, i know this store/work there/whatever and it's a great place to get some mannequins" I'm cool with that.
If some business does a freaking Google search and finds my post and posts an advertisment, forget them. Heck, even if someone said to them, "hey, there's a post on eplaya looking for mannequins," and they come in and post an impersonal advertisment, forget it. I'm not gonna patronize them.
Had they come in, read the thread, made a personal instead of a geberic advertisment reposnse, I might have been inclined to check them out.
In a half-mile radius from my workplace, there are no less than a dozen stores selling mannequins (on the cheap, too). I could easily shop at any one of them. but I don't. It's not just about buying up a bunch of fiberglass figures. It's about (dare I say it?) community. I want to make personal connections with people, not generic transactions with an entity of business.

Aye, which is worse, the "rampant" commercialism (meaning it doesn't go in the Harvey pocket) or the incessant policing?Steven bradford wrote:What a load of pretentious crap.

I will 'police' my thread containing my discussion about my mannequins and my project however I see fit. You are free to do the same with yours.
I have all the mannequins I need (and some I don't) safe and accounted for. Westminster mall is suspisciously close to my house, though...
