THE TRANSLATION OF OUR FUTURE

Post by belleaqua » Mon Jul 17, 2006 9:55 pm

My baby had her first Burning Man experience in The Floating World, 2002. She was 5 years old at the time...the Pirate Ships were tops.

Upon her non-stop request, she will return this year at the ripe age of 9.
I can't wait. Her development and maturity will open greater communication into concepts and questions that she wasn't able to express in the early years. Watching her become a young lady, seeing her interactions at school and in the world, I revel in the experience that Burning Man allows her. Influencing the possibilities that translate into the comprehensible greatness of her being, in every moment.
The immensity of Burning Man is a lot for a little person to articulate.
As with many aspects of parenting - sacrifice is a key word.
Particularly self sacrifice.
So I go sober, I go in the awareness of her greatness and her needs.
I go as her guardian and protector.
I go as her guide to THE FUTURE.
May the visions of HOPE be translated by the youth into what IS possible.
I give thanks for ALL who manifest this transformation.
See you on the Playa!

As for helpful hints for kiddies on the range...
Lots of make up, lots of costumes, Sunsets and Sunrises -
Lots of Water - Vitamin C - Spirulina - Oranges - Watermelon - Kale -
(healthy things that keep in the heat and give strength to the core and the immune system) - this is good for big kids too! lots of daytime rest - sunblock - transportation, something to sleep in while being pulled on bike around the playa (esp.@night) - camping in a "quieter" zone (for ease of integration and daily decompression) -

Maybe the sticky topic here
Kids & Teenagers at Burning Man
would be more appropriate?
