i am buying some pvc pipe and make a make-shift poles.Box Burner wrote:I have a couple of those. You are right. they will make great shade. Plus they let the air blow through. If I can find them, and if I have room I will bring them along. We will need poles for them. If nothing else they can be put up over all the wee 2 and 3 man tents that folks are bringing to help them stay cool.Zoom wrote:hey BB
yeah i dug out my camoflauge net from the army lastnight, want to bring it to the burn. had to dig out the pine needles from it. got it stuffed in an old duffle bag from desert storm. airline co. said i will have to pay an extra 80 dollars to take it with me. kinda pricy but it will be worth it. great shade provider. plus when the wind blows it will sound like you're under a tree. tomorrow afterwork or saturday start digging through my army gear looking for thermal undergarments and sorts.![]()

I have two. One is the old type with different shades of burlap strips woven into it. And the other is a newer post Vietnam era type with plastic/rubber leaves that are supposed to foil infrared. one 12x20 and one 20x20 I think. I have never used them so I cannot remember. But if we bring pvc and fast drying glue we can build a frame on site.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. the burlap one is a little more open and might benifit from the addition of more (colorful) cloth strips woven into it. but it will provide shade as it is.

HEY BAR!!!
It's been verrrrry slow lately......is everyone packing? My organizational skills are truly lacking in this regard. Got a lot of zip locks going, but will have to look later to see what i've actually packed. It was easier last year in some ways since I only decided 5 weeks ahead of time to go and just threw some things in a bag.
Drinks anyone?
