for a rebar puller which you can use to pull small trees and shrubs out of your yard. Nice if you don't need a rebar puller full time and have some brush to clear.
There may be some issues with not having a vertical pull on rebar, though. Anyone have any thoughts on whether that's a problem?

I tried that last year and it worked like a charm. After you twist the rebar around a few times, you can easily pull it out by hand. Plus vise grips are relatively small and are very useful for other tasks.skibear wrote:I find twisting rebar several turns with a large
pair of vicegrips does the removal trick fine

Uh Phil !! also not there yet (70's) but older than
most burners. Can still bend down/roll in playa dust etc.
It's easier to haul Vice grips on the plane flight than some
of the garguantian industrial strength alternatives just
mentioned !!
Might be otherwise if I lived in driving range of BRC.

mmmmm
Can't remeber when I could roll in the playa dust. Must have been a couple years.
I'm the contraptioneer your mother warned you about.
All suggestions are welcomed, of course; but I thought a reminder of different abilities and agilities might keep the suggestions in a broader range of tools.skibear wrote:It's easier to haul Vice grips on the plane flight than some

a small cord-wrapped prussik knot around the rebar, straight, bent, whatever, and an automotive jack (kind in your car, not a floor jack) will pull damn near anything out... Takes a little knowledge and finnese.
M*A*S*H 4207th: An army of fun.
I don't care what the borg says: feather-wearers will NOT be served in Rosie's Bar.
When I ask how many burns, I mean at BRC.

There is crow bar that has been around the family for (oh say) a 100 years. The nail claws are woren so it fits rebar just right. I kave a plastic stool to park my butt on while worhing any where near the ground. This includes drivinig rebar. Last year there were some pretty good winds. I used 12 inch nails from Home Depot through the tarp gromets that touched the ground. It suprised me how well they held. I drove them streight into the ground. The tarp was at a good 45° angle. I plan to use more nails this year. BUt will have rebar on hand if needed.
