and this being used to destroy the faithless life and burn clean the spirtit from the unclean ,forever changing humanity as the middle east explodes and floods and other global things like bird flu and bovine pms,sweep the planet in the comming of the end of daze. so prophesized.....

I told a "born-again pagan" about BM once and he was shocked that we didn't cast a Magic Circle around the man before we burned him, since we were conjuring Forces that might rise up Beyond Our Control.

Pardon me but for a wall to wall fire festival how much fire is really out there anymore? Not as much as you might think.

And as for casting a magic circle, I know for the past 4 years a small group has done that. And discreetly I might add. But it's not for forces beyond the realm of control, that's a bunch of hooey.

The 'BM and the occult' page (http://occult.thevaultofheaven.com/) is full of made up inaccuracies, and repeats items as independent when they are just the basic properties of a pentagram:

Esplanade is 2100' feet from the man. At least that's the number on this year's map, unless that's changed... This is 640 meters, NOT 666 meters as the page states.

The temple being '666m' and the plazas being '666m' from the man *and* on the pentagram lines are just the basic properties of a pentagram. And again, the distance is wrong.

Lenth of side of 'grand pentagram' is 3.5 times 666m... Again, basic property of a pentragram, *and* it's 3.5 time 640 meters.

I don't know if or where the distance to the circle around the man is published, so based on the made up other facts, I'm inclined to believe this is also made up.

I supposed I could invent my own unit of measure (let's call it a 'smurf') so that 2100 feet = 666 smurfs. That'll be convincing!

Anyone with a geometric/analytical/mathematical mind can twist, turn, and introduce numbers to back that argument. You can place a pentagram on anything circular and yes, the dimensions do seem a bit fabricated....

The real question here is would anyone actually care if it was or was not pagan?
