Seeking Bagpipe Player and others for Dance Performance

Post by poxod » Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:31 pm

I am the music coordinator for Finis Tere, a mile-long dance and installation piece happening on Wednesday and Thursday nights right after sunset.

Got an instrument? Join our ragtang band of musicians pulled from the playa's best to be part of this special performance. All instruments are welcome, but a bagpipe among us would be PERFECT! Brass instruments are welcome, and of course percussion is critical. The louder the better. We will be walking in a procession, so you would need to be able to play and walk at the same time, so electric and other large instruments are out.

We would need the bagpipe player (and anyone else who wants to) to come to one rehearsal and then perform at both of the two performances, which will run a half-hour each. Other instruments could join in at the time of performance and walk with us. We have a broad direction for what the music should be, plus a few specific cues that we need to coordinate with the dancers, but otherwise we're open to ideas from you!

Respond to this posting or contact cc |at| poxod \dot\ cc for info or to get involved! Also if you know any bagpipers who will be at BM, please forward this message to them! Thanks!
