For what it's worth, I'd look forward to meeting you, CS.

As for me, I didn't come out of the woodwork last year 'cause I was too recently born-again burner. My last meet 'n' greet was '02, and it's been too damn long.

Thanks for the invite. I'm there!

Yeah Fishy, BBSue and I hung around together for awhile last year on the final day or two of BM. Got a chance to meet some of the Apokolipticans; a nice but rather eclectic group of individuals. And she has seen me without the wig as well.

...Of course, being bald has it's advantages: No need to waste money on shampoo, for example.

Doc's an expert on externalizing costs. It's true he doesn't buy shampoo, but all his campmates spent a fortune of extra polarized lens for their sunglasses.

Um... I also like his beverage of choice on the playa. Too bad it makes me pass out. Gotta watch that this year!!

And I gotta admit - Doc is one of those guys who look good with, um, his un-insulated crown. Too bad I'm now taken...

BTW - our logistics branch received a request form with a BDC&WB return address for some industrial strength de-glosser... Hmmm.....

is eclectic just a favorable euphemism for 'clueless and disconnected freaks'? well, then at least i fit that.

I've always taken eclectic to mean people to whom under no circumstances should you loan them $5. But your definition works also.

BTW Doc fits either defenition quite nicely.

He doesn't want the aliens to track him down via shine. Good planning.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say some of you are trying to insult me.

And BBSue, I'm so very happy for you and chagrined at the same time!

Know any better then what?

Ah Doc. I can't help it if I'm exhuberant. Well I can, but I choose not to. What has turned my frown upside down? What has replaced my grumpypants with the corset O'joy?

Merely this: In a months time, more or less, I shall feel the akaline kiss of playa dust upon my moist, water-logged lips. I shall seek your anatomically improbable avatars of eternally unfilled male desire and I shall do obsequy on bent knee as they make their last march to the E-Z-Bake.

And this makes me undescribably happy, so I've decided to fling insults in your direction. Please don't take it personally, after all you married me and that creates a bond.

i got told today of my pending bonus... $1K (gross).

do i go the burn and see friends... friends from here and year's past?

or so i stay home, buy refractory bricks, burners, and other pottery making devices?

i am really torn... one choice is sensible, the other not quite so.

fuck!

Which will be better for your soul? Do you need company or quiet time?

Or am I just being to effin helpful and you didn't actually ask for this.

Congrats by the way. You've been through enough this year, good to get some strokes.

Well, I'm going to take some of scott's ashes to the burn. It's where he'd want to be.

(very dumb side note--I'm guessing you're heard that japanese story abou that glaze that needs bone ash to come out right. Maybe it's having a potter friend, but htat sticks in my mind as one of the more creative ways to continue on.)

My brother is trying to talk our SIL into some of our eldest brother Wayne's ashes to go into the clay of handmade porcelain marbles. She's not up to it quite yet.

It'd be cool because both my brothers collected marbles.

i can send you clay, and fire it later some day.... it doesn't go bad, it just needs water.

I'll ask him, I know he uses a fairly specific um, type? Weight? Density? It'd be great if he could use it. He did give me some old prototypes to take as gift art for The Home, so this year I have to remember to bring them.

Well attended yoga class, pretty good music and I camped next to Shut Up And Eat, a bunch of rainbow kids who were trucked into cook. But no one showed up for their food, so they stopped. Talk about poor camp placement They had spent the last 6 weeks cooking for the clean-up crew at the Rainbow Gathering.

There was a "color between the lines" aspect to the event. It was heavily scheduled, and serendipity seemed to have a hard time getting a toehold. It was also quite the culture clash. Most people weren't there for art or "community", it seemed to me, most were there to consume music. It may party be a function of geography, as level ground was at a premium there. But i did enjoy camping high above the valley floor and watching the moon.

But then, maybe it's my own blinders egging me on. I'm glad I went, not sure if I'll be back.

I'm looking so forward to Thursday! I happen to have a loverly picture of Dr. Pyro sitting on my dresser; sans wig. Reminds me of the wonderful peeps I can't wait to go home to see.

Sexy Sam is Single? How can that be? Still tending bar around here?
