Tutus?
Tutus?
I am looking for some tutus to have available at my playa "yard sale" and am wondering if anyone has hot leads on cheap ones. They need not be fancy, of course. The only ones I've found on Ebay are either in the UK or $50+
I tried making one, as was my original plan, but after wrestling with yards of tulle I discovered my machine just wasn't up to the task (or was that me?)
So where do you folks get yours? Or has anyone hand-sewn one? Advice is very much appreciated!

I'm very dissapointed that Ivy hasn't posted yet to make sure we know what a tutu actually is.
If you're just going with what many people commonly call a tutu--i.e. layers of tulle attached to an elastic waist band--rather than an actual tutu--attached to underwear--is that cheaper?

mmm, okay. How about, there's folks in the world who don't know the true names of things, me included? I'd far rather have this conversation over a beer than the internet, it would be far more informative and tons more fun.
Um, what is the correct yet generic term for a skirtlike garment with a buttload of tulle?
Oh, and yep, I do love Ivy too.
And this is a friendly post, not sarcastic, I know how easy it is to read so much here the wrong way. I guess it was the "did"? Sorry.

Don't get me wrong, i thought the point you were trying to make--searching under alternate terms might yield more desired results--was perfectly valid.
And I would be honored to have a more indepth conversation about this over a few drinks.
I was correcting the part where you said that tutus and crinolines, square dance slips, petticoats, etc. were the same thing. That was how your post read, even if that wasn't the point you were trying to make. They may come up on ebay, sure. But they are not the same thing. They don't look the same, are made from different materials, are constructed differently, and are used for entirely different purposes (one being an outer garment while the others are undergarments, etc.) Oh, and they're not necessarily cheaper, either. On ebay, did you also look up, dance skirts, crinolines, square dance, square dance slips? Those are cheaper than tutus and practically the same thing.
Tulle skirt. But one is unlikely to find much by inputting that into ebay. That's not the point I'm disagreeing with, though. I agree that one could enter "tutu" on ebay and get crinolines and vice versa. I disagree that they are, in fact, the same garment.Um, what is the correct yet generic term for a skirtlike garment with a buttload of tulle?

Way hot...I think razor wire might be it bit sharper witted than barbed wire, or depending on your tune, concertina wire.
