Bring lots, and find someone cute to apply it.Box Burner wrote:Got any recomendations on sunscreen?
As far as specific brands are concerned, I've been using Coppertone Spectra3 for a couple of years now - UVA/UVB protection with zinc oxide in it, and it deflects and scatters the UV in addition to simply absorbing it like most brands. That's actually an SPF50. If you're not quite so fishbelly white as I am *grin*, they now also have a continuous-spray version of their regular suncreens in SPF15 and SPF30; my brother bought a bottle of this when we drove to LA last weekend, and LOVED it.

Anything purple is mine. Anything else can be dyed or painted.

Hi BB, Robbi...
Robbi, I was name-dropping you when talking about the Bar Camp with my hooping class yesterday.. one of my students has been a Ranger a few times, and knows you and Sputnik. No idea what her playa name is, but real name is Shelley, from Vancouver...
Y'all up to anything fun this eve?
X.

Thanks PK. I have not gone out much in the last year.
Hi X. Burning CDs and fighting the little beasties off. Trying to decide if I should drink a cold beer with a fever.

Howdy X.
BB: I recommend Hawaiian Tropic. I get it in SPF 15, and repeat applications frequently. It has excellent moisterizing properties, and smells like coconuts. I also get a jug of No-Ad because it's cheap.
This evening's adventure has been finishing the playa-pants..basically pajama bottoms out of muslin. This will be my 3rd & final pair. They're pale pink. Damn, the pocket is too narrow. Back to the pick!

Robbi, you inspire me.. I've been totally and utterly procrastinating on my playa sewing... and wondering to myself "if I just did jammy or wrap pants out of interesting fabric, and wore it with a bikini top, would people think I was lame?"... :)
So there may be the odd bit of silver something, or pink fur something, or bridesmaid dress something, but lots of jammy pants :)
AND, if I get around to it, a wonderful white gauzy flowing dress like I saw on a hot babe singing at the Folk Music Festival last month, woo!

If her MAC will play a standard cd and you are copying from regular CDs then there is no problem. The CD will come out ready to play on any cd player.Xta_G wrote:Hey Koosh! Didja confirm your travel plans?
I need to burn CDs.. prob is, my new/old machine doesn't have a burner... and my roomie's that DOES, is a Mac, so I can't just transfer files over. Guh.
Have beer if you like beer

jammy pants are the bomb.
And nuthin..l mean NUTHIN beats the SPF of cloth.
I'm planning on spending a lot of time on a bike, working all day, so I need something comfortable and rugged. I still need to make a stencil that says: "Thank you for giving a shit" and buy a pack of cheap white t-shirts to stencil. That's tomorrow's adventure I've decided.
Go with the bikini top and jammy pants, and get help with the sunscreen applications.
Whoo! Life is good.
I just finished the pants. Pockets...check. Length...check. Waistband feels like I'm wearing nuthin...check.
Coolness, I'm off to bed.
Goodnight!

Hey Gang, The suitcase is packed, wife and kids left 2 days ago. I fly out in the afternoon to one of the greatest places on earth.. Wallowa Lake in the Eagle Cap Wilderness... It's in Clarkson’s backyard... I'm off to place my Dad's ashes into the lake were my Mom's ashes were placed 3 years ago... I place some of his ashes last year in the Temple... To me, it's the only way I'd want to be after death. I don't want to take up any space when I'm gone. I’m looking forward to all of the family and grandkids gathering in this wonderful place... Some tears and lots of Laughs with be had by all... So, I'll be back Tuesday..
I was Born OK the 1st Time....
