Actually Titties and Beer might work out. The concentric circle roads could be cup sizes (which would make a perverse kind of sense), and the radial roads could be various "frat boy" beer names.

This would also inject a big ass dose of reality to everyone. If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? Knock all the mystics off their high philisophical pedestals and have them make fun of ourselves. I agree with jbelson: I like the print idea.
I also agree with Badger: a great deal of print can equal moop.

That's why IMO, "story" is not limited to print, and also, there are many ways "print" can be expressed without paper.

That is a good question. And Badger freaked me out by posting right after I made my comments about Ivy! Again I've never met her and yeah she can have an attitude. But she's one of the eplayans I really want to meet.

My idea was more like "the printed world", something to incorporate more than just stories.

Regarding a theme of 'stories,' what if a collaborative story was written/role-played by the BM participants? What if every ticket came with a suggested role, -some background, affiliation and motivation, and each participant had the opportunity to discover and interact with a larger-than-life story created in the ephemeral world of BM?

Roleplaying would be all voluntary of course, with people ignoring, replacing, modifying or living their role for their time there. The basic setting of the story could be provided in advance, and particular people or camps could play high-profile characters and the rest of the participants adding to the story in whatever way they see fit.

I know this is kind of an abstract idea, but I find it intriguing. Imagine a 30k person interactive roleplaying experience!

There could be a couple of different levels of this... Sentence at a time, word at a time... even letter at a time - that one would probably last all week.

I like the interactive roleplay/story idea too, and I agree that it would probably work on a smaller scale--and not fulltime. I could see myself getting involved with something like like if I encountered it on the playa, but not want to be "in character" 24/7.

I don't have any logistical ideas yet but I do want to ponder this some more.

I like Don Muerto's idea. I especially like that with all this elaborate story, there would be no one who "saw it all" and was able to "make sense" out of it. That's a wonderful surreal touch.

I don't think we could hope to even get a 40% participation rate in time or population, but that still makes a HUGE number of pigments on this collaborative canvas. Shit, 10% gives us 3,000 people interacting and even 1% gives us a 300 character story.

As for the letter/word/sentence at a time, -I wasn't thinking that literally. I was thinking more like there are predetermined settings that characters converge upon and interact. The interaction makes the story, but not the actual writing of it.

Like life, nobody would have 'the whole picture' and all participants at BM, not just those in the roleplay, would come away with a different take on it. What pieces I witness/participate in plus yours and hers and his and theirs would make a mosaic that would only be viewable in pieces. Later, people could write the story as they experienced it. Or not.
