I am sitting here trying not to be offended that someone might think that my post is not a seriously vaulable contribution to this board. ....pout.....

And I will add that this thread has made me contemplate the actual existance of transexual hippies. I am not sure that they exist or am I naive?

If you put ten burners in a room, they will definitely throw a party.
But they might just take over a small country at the same time, as an afterthought.

Now if you'll watch my machinegun for me, I have to go put twinkley things on a bike.

Hippies

Howdy.
Someone brought up the subject of Hippies and the Burn, and since I am an old Hippie (I was born in 48) I thought I would throw my 2 cents in.
We had Woodstock, a one time affair that brought the Tribe together. You get to do this every year at the Burn. Now that is way way Cool.
I attended my first Burn last year and had my mine blown every five minutes. I going back this year and every year I can physically get there.
That fella who put the Burn down as some kind of Yuppie thing just does not get it.
Thanks to everyone for putting this thing together. Burn On I say.
Blessings

Trying to nail it down by saying your perception is right and all others are wrong or that BM is this but not that seems like a waste of time. In general I find that anyone who tries to define the event into one camp or another not only seems to not 'get it' but runs the peril of of being accused of being myopic. You wanna define the event for the rest of using your own experience? You might as well try cutting mercury in a bowl.

Yeppers. I say all the time, "burningman is as many different things as people who attend."

Would a mercury fountain violate blm protocols?

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Naive.
