Basically, just make sure you arrive safely. The Greeters will square you away.

If you arrive at night, you can expect to end up parking in some convenient empty lot and relocating in the morning. If you arrive during the day, park in some convient empty lot and scout around a bit until you get the hang of it.

If at night, before you pull into an empty lot, get out, sweep the area with light and make damned sure you're not running over a rebar stake, a sleeping bag, bicycle, whatever. And for your own sake, don't drop anchor, get all excited and run off into the night before remembering exactly where you are, and don't do this:

Camping close to the base of "The Man" always makes for pleasant encounters with your fellow burners.

newbies are sent to...

Post by nocturnal_steve » Thu Aug 10, 2006 2:21 pm

Newbies are sent to "indoctrination" , where you will be asked to choose the red or blue pill. Make sure you CHOOSE THE BLUE !

Then they will attach electrodes to your head, hold up four fingers, and ask you to tell them how many ... ANSWER FIVE !

Finally, they will bring you out to see The Man for the first time, and you will be expected to blurt out “Oh my God. I’m back. I’m home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it. You Maniacs! YOU BLEW IT UP!”

"Am I free to park where I want, or what?"

The best place for RV parking is at about 6:00 and the Esplanade. You will see a group of huge RVs there along with generators and other stuff. That's generally where the people with RVs want to go.

You're free to park WHAT you want, just so long as it's what you drove up in.

Then there's always the new Valet Parking area between Gate and Greeters.

It's OK there, the noise wasn't so bad, but Iwasn't too impressed with the pumping service. It's hard to see why they had to have so many accidents.

We try to park on the southwest side, as that is where the wind comes from and the dust from movement gets worse as you move to the north east.

later all - be safe
