I was just looking at a satellite view from BRC on google maps, something's on fire a little to the south, huge plume of smoke! Early burn?

Wild fire season in the west. Some days it seems like the whole damn place is on fire.

Or it is steam from the geo-thermal plants.

We here in Nothern Nevada have had a crazy fire season. At one point, there was a pretty big fire right by Empire/Gerlech.

Any pictures on Google Maps and Google Earth are likely to be quite old. From several months to several years. If you see a fire on Google Maps, it probably isn't there anymore.

True dat. I can guarantee that the sat photos of my neighborhood were taken between May 2003 and May 2004, because the van I used to drive for work is parked behind our apartment.

Maybe I should pull it up and see if My Beloved Tania Truck is parked in my driveway still.
