Yeah, that's fine. But what about "man, it is way too far to my camp, can I crash here? Oh, and it's cold, got a blankie"?

I guess I see making sure I can get back to my camp as a part of my self-reliance. If I got so fucked up I can't make it back to my camp, I would feel I had a problem with proper setting of priorities. Maybe I take the self-reliance thing too seriously.

It would be different if I were with friends or if it were an emergency, yeah, I would ask a stranger, but I don't want to *plan* on being gifted a warm place to sleep as then I begin to feel that my plans are based on my being able to mooch.

How about folks who sleep at one camp sans fees, but then use the showers and hot meals at another camp, thereby avoiding camp fees altogether? Irks me, just irks me.

I didn't know that sort of stuff went on, I felt kinda guilty about volunteering as a lamplighter and letting them feed me one time afterwards. If the supercute girl hadn't kept saying we have too much food, we'll have to throw it out I wouldn't have done it.

And to use someone's shower? Who in the hell would do that? That's just wrong.

That's probably easier for women than it is for the guys. There are probably more females than males who can score a shower in someone's RV if they "work it".

Post re-worded.

Naw, this was a guy, not a girl. Someone I know, claimed it was polycampery when it was simply being campiscuous.

Yeah, I'm a self reliant little camper and all, but if a fellow burner is in need, I won't stand up and say "Won't you be a little more self-reliant?" and send them off to be enfolded in the wings of Count Hypothermia... Unless they're totally lame.
