I can't remember the name of the book that's just come out on the topic but from most I've read, It does'nt seem to (metrosexual that is) be a substance viable lable of any kind.
Just an Incrowd here today gone tomorrow flavor of the month fad.
Here's another one for the refuse pile: "Quirkyalone"
I believe it's called "Metrosexual's Guide to Style", the name of the author escapes me. (provided it's the same one we stock at work), head office isn't sure whether it's fashion or humour. But since I put it on the shelf it was my decision.DE FACTO wrote: I can't remember the name of the book that's just come out on the topic but from most I've read, It does'nt seem to (metrosexual that is) be a substance viable lable of any kind.

I thought that all I'd get from a metrosexual is humdrum, pre-packaged, fad, flavor of the month sex. Of course if it were awesome humdrum, pre-packed, faddish, flavor of the month sex, I'd go for it. But I'm not collecting just any old notches on my bed posts.DE FACTO wrote: IMHO sex is sex. awsome sex is all what matters !

metrosexuals on South Park
There was a hilarius episode of South Park a couple weeks ago on this very topic. The sweeping popularity of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" turned all of South Park's men and boys into fashionable, lisping, bitchy wanna-be queens. Their women got together to tell them to get back to their beer-drinking, gut-scratching selves.
Meanwhile, Mr. Garrison ad his new boytoy, Mr. Slave, decide that the Fab 5 from "Queer Eye" have to die for betraying the gay community by commodifying their style to the straights. Stan also decides they need to die, because all of his friends have shunned him for eschewing the now-required fashion.
I won't spoil the rest. It was hysterical...I can't wait for the rerun. Of course, it's Comedy Central, so I won't have to wait too long.

Ha!a hilarius episode of South Park a couple weeks ago
I saw that one twice.
and lisping, bitchy wanna-be queens are an acurate discription of the authors of the so called "metrosexual" theme in answer to:

And I had just convinced myself that metrosexuals were those dirty old men feeling up adolescent girls on the Paris underground.
Of course, the British with mass transit sexualities are called "toobies." A good connection is called Riding the Jubelie, but the bad ones are just endlessly jerking to stops and starts on the Circle.

More media hype. More media bullshit. It's this week's version of cell phone mobbing. It's all very 'last week' here. The term's just rolling off everyone's lips lately - unless you're here in San Francisco. Here, Metrosexual(TM)=guy. Can someone tell me what that is, cause that's like the "new" buzz word, and i don't "get it".

I'm not gonna believe that until I see you with product in your hair, Mr. Badger.Badger wrote: The term's just rolling off everyone's lips lately - unless you're here in San Francisco. Here, Metrosexual(TM)=guy.
ok well actually I feel it refers to any straight guy who pays attention to his clothes hair and home. It's a stupid term because it marginalizes same. The inference is that if you care about your appearance and you are a guy, you are, well not exactly gay, but defnitiely not just straight.
I agree it is claptrap. We'll see if the term remains after 6 months.

I found this article on CNN.com about the changing attitudes towards the word: queer. The article covers some of the attitudes towards the definitions of metrosexual, pansexual, etc.

As long as your happy with yourself and the one your with, who cares about titles and stereotypes anyway?

I guess I didn't inject a sufficient amount of irony in that last post.I'm not gonna believe that until I see you with product in your hair, Mr. Badger.
