Used Billboard Vinyl

Post by Cake » Mon Aug 14, 2006 10:07 am

I live in San Francisco and am trying to track down used billboard vinyl but am not having any luck. The smaller companies don't have what I'm looking for and the larger companies use a service to pick up their used vinyl and won't divulge the name or phone number of their service.

I'm looking for the heavy vinyl, typically 15' x 50' (sometimes called 14' x 48'), with the open-ended sleeves or pockets along the sides. I've found some on e-bay in Texas for $40 but it's another $60 to ship and usually you can get this stuff for free since it's being tossed, so I'd prefer not to have to spend $100. However, I don't mind making a donation.

If anyone has any connections with CBS Outdoor, Clear Channel Communications, or any other resource, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I wonder what would happen if you walked into the clear channel place in Berkeley/albany. It's right by I80 between gilman and Albany or university and gilman. east side of the freeway. Could be a fool's errand, but if you're going to be in the area, you might give it a try.
