Good wedding ceremonies

Post by uncle sticky » Mon Aug 14, 2006 11:43 am

So, I'm performing a couple of weddings this year, and I'm about as giddy as a school girl. I'm a big sap, and I love the idea of being part of a burner wedding. Problem is, the couple of weddings that I've done in the default world were more traditional in nature, and the ceremonies were a little flowery and solemn than the couples want for the playa. I've been directed to do fun and humorous, which is great, but I need help! Share your favorite love/marriage/wedding anecdotes or ceremonies!

Good for you!

Try incorporating some of the traditions from other cultures "just to really seal the deal" - serving one another tea, jumping the broom, smashing the glass, etc...(ask the bride if she brought the dowry).

Most couples or even larger groups of people have some sort of private in-joke. At my wedding it involved my bride handing me a crisp new five dollar bill. Maybe interview the couples with a mind to finding out that joke or bon mot or quip or what-have-you to incorporate that into the ceremony.

Arrange for some santas or elves or klowns or mimes to swarm the ceremony for a while.

Have the bride arrive on an art car.
