Stay under shade during the hottest part of the days. It's a good idea to rub lime wedges on your feet during that timeframe, too.

Before you retire, wash your feet (add some vinegar or lemon juice in the water, depending on whether you want to smell like...er, vinegar or lemon), lotion the hekk out of them, put on clean socks and you'll have the dreaded Playa Foot beat. Some people recommend Bag Balm; some recommend olive oil; some recommend Dr. Bronner's soap; some recommend [insert your favourite moisturizing lotion here]. Go with whatever suits you.

Unless you're vegan, honey in your water bottle is good, too.

Third on the DON'T PISS CLEAR. Here's a good rule of thumb: take a drink of water whenever you see water, or hear someone say "Water," or "drink." Watch out at night, because you can get dehydrated then, too. Train yourself to wake up every couple hours and drink, or better yet have your hydration pack's stem stuck in the corner of your mouth when you turn in. Plants thrive on drip irrigation and so do animals.

Having taste-tested all three Emergen-Cs, I prefer orange. Cranberry *is* awful and the lemon-lime reminded me too much of the Half-Lytely I had to take to clean out before...uhhhhm... [dodging TMI].

Moving right along...

And when you go out at night, ILLUMINATE YOURSELF! With EL wire if you can swing it, with glowsticks otherwise, but don't slink around in the dark!
