we have topics disappearing (but not from the main page) and failures to "cookie" (or whatever) whn we visit a page, AND a non-refresh systemwide.

Do you remember what topic is missing and from where?

Is it not marking topics that you visited as read?

I log on to like 20 unread messages, I log off without looking at them, log back on and they're all marked as read. And it's intermittent.

It's also a PITA!!

Hows that for a bug?

It could be regular messages, as teh system doesn't mark read and unread posts, but what posts are new since the last time you logged in. (Thus no way of saving posts you can't get to right now, but don't want to miss.)

It is, Fishie... t does it only intermittantly, as sometimes it'll keep the unread ones unread when I log on and off, other times it will mark them as all read.

Drives me nuts as then I have to go thru topic by topic and line by line to figure out what I've missed and already read.

Oh, it's not the PM's (reminds me - I owe one to this awesome guy, still...) - those stay unread until I read them.

Note that when trying to link a remote picture using HTML that the last few characters about seem to place a 'space' in the command ( between the 'p' and the 'g' in 'jpg) which doesn't allow the item to show/post.

What up with that?

cant tell, but i wonder if it was expecting some argument in ().

btw, thanks for the feedback, bugs are not currently being looked into until after the event. but i am keeping note of them.

Nope, I had just logged in. Up popped the little annoying "buddy" window with that text inside it. I just closed the window and continued on.

Yeppers, the functions_contact.php is part of the buddy module, and why posting the entire error message is so helpful.

For future reference: if you get an error message please post it, otherwise, if the bug cannot be reproduced no one can fix it.

There were 45 users logged when it happened. Its not surprising that it happened on a Monday and so close to the event since that is historically the most active time on the board. This is added to my list to get adressed after the event.

Probably will see this continued slow response for awhile, only thing I can recommend is trying to connect off-hours.

Server is doing a major barf.

There were 45 users logged when it happened. Its not surprising that it happened on a Monday and so close to the event since that is historically the most active time on the board. This is added to my list to get adressed after the event.

Probably will see this continued slow response for awhile, only thing I can recommend is trying to connect off-hours.

Sorry spect. This is not the first double post I've seen today and at the tiem I was writing I thought I was about to have one. I was really trying to understand what was going on. Also getting the "page unavailable" message with some frequency today. I'm sure your basic advise is good.

Sweets, what I was trying to say was that you were barely a referant to the remark. I was noting that the board was acting up, not that it had acted up on you.

- Hidden buddies notified on signing in
- Using bbtag buttons: places tags and end, have to use twice
- Using bbtag buttons: extra arbitrary space in imagetag button use

Looks like the exact same error that geekster reported above. When that happened I could not repeat it.

Do you remember what you were doing when it happened? Editing 'Contact Management' maybe?

I keep seeing threads that there is an extra page at the end and when I click on the link to read posts, it says "No posts exist for this topic"

It's happened on the bar thread and one other thread.
