wondering if there is any subgenius-esque camp, or a gathering of. or maybe even discordians?

I don't know about any camps, but in the theme camps list ( and i don't remember which camp), I was looking at the photos, ........ and there was the happy smiling face of 'BOB' in all his pipe smoking glory !! Good luck in your search.
