Burning Man logo policy?

Hello all,

As I anticipate my first trip to Burning Man I thought about what kind of artistic piece of myself I could share with people as a gift on the playa. I decided to make CDs of the first couple of episodes of an audio drama series that I voice-act in and help produce (after all, I imagine a lot of burners are going to have long car rides home).

However, I have read about instances of the BM organizers going after people who use their trademarks in ways that don't comply with BM's usage policy, which, just for the record, I believe they are perfectly entitled to do. The problem is that I can't find where the actual usage policy is.

My plan is to make CDs that have the show's title and whatnot, plus something like "Burning Man 2006" and a little Burning Man logo. I've seen several theme camps that use variations on the BM logo on their websites, so I assume it's at least allowed under some circumstances... am I ok as long as I'm not selling the logo'd item or trying to pass it off as "official" merchandise of some sort?

Any guidance y'all can offer would be much appreciated.

As far as I've seen on the playa, gifts with the logos are all over the place. If you're not selling my guess is you'll be fine.

I've got 2 personalized CD's that were gifted to me at the event with the logo on them....so what you're proposing is something that's been done before. AntiM spelled it out...if you're gifting you are fine. If you put it on something to sell the legal eagles will be looking at you as lunch.
