leaving after the burn
sorry if this is a dumb question but i am a virgin coming with a few friends in an RV ....our schedule is tight after the burn and i was toying with the idea of leaving after the burn and pulling an all nighter. just wondering if that is feasible or not....
thanks in advance....can't wait!

Yes, it's feasible. I've met people who left just before the burn.
Make sure you clear a path to the road during the day on Saturday, and pack/pick up moop before the sun goes down. If you're in the middle of a block you may not have a clear path out and nobody will be around to move their stuff.
Whether you can handle the all-nighter, that's up to you.

We usually leave the morning after the burn for the drive back to LA-LA land. Gives us a few hours rest and daylight to navigate by.
I realize that may not fit your timetable, but after being on the playa, its nice to have daylight.
Be safe, seen enough accidents on my way home from phishy festivals to last a lifetime.

We have done it with great intentions, sober and armed with super-coffees. We pack up camp and clean up before the burn and head out right after. There is a small exodus at the gate. 30 minutes down the highway we always seem to get really, really tired. That stretch is hard because you really can't pull over to rest until you are off the reservation or you are likely to get hassled. We usually find somewhere to pull over and sleep for an hour or two once we get out. Plan on that, you may need it. Caffeine up, stay awake and be careful.
