is there a booklet?

Post by dbarton » Thu Aug 24, 2006 1:11 am

there's *tons* of good info about the events in the playa calendar on here. Do we need to cut n paste it all, or is there a way to grab all the info, or best, is there booklet given out as we enter BM?

I seem to recall some type of event listing booklet. Yes?

Just remember that the Where What When went to press already. I think the cut-off to get in it was sometime in late July, which means anything that comes up after that will be in the online calendar but not the printed one.

I'd recommend writing down the top 5 or 10 things you simply must go to out there- and then look them over on Sunday to see what you forgot to do.

I used to try to follow the calendar, but gave up when I realized I wasn't making it to anything. YMMV.

And not everything that was on the calender before the cutoff will necesarily make it to the What Where When.

Also, there is this thing called "Playa Time" Logistics are more complicated, sleep wake cycles are disrupted and there's a whole lot of meeting interesting rabbits, falling down holes and completely forgetting your appointments. "Manana" may or may not give you a flavor.

There is a city map that has the location of all the POSTED theme camps. These are the ones whose applications were submitted and accepted. Other people who just show up on the playa and put up a theme camp have to be found by rumor and bicycling with an open mind.

Sweet and delightful theCryptofishist:

Is a copy of the map with theme camp locations available online? I looked for it, and failed.

This one is handy:
http://www.tonyandkarina.us/eg/assets/p ... 0GoMap.pdf
and you can print it on both sides of just one sheet of paper. I laminated a couple for gifts. It says it is accurate up to August 1's entries.
