Lorgasm - I hate to see you so stressed! Enjoy the flight - it's your magic carpet to the playa. If you forget something, find me, I'll have packed at least two of whatever it is. If not, fuck it, it's a fucking camping trip with a bunch of people that love you!
Begin your vacation right now - anticipation should be nearly as fun as the event.
Breathe! Listen to music that lifts you spiritually, you'll find a wellspring of strength that will amaze you once you catch your next wind.

The Wolf hasn't lost it!
I spent about two hours loading the car and I'm 75% finished. I only have 25 more things to pack, mostly on the roof. I'm done packing for the day and I'll probably get to the roof load tomorrow evening. The shocks are taking it well, too, since most of what I packed today was the big heavy stuff. The roof load will be mostly blankets, tarps, drapes and the bike.
Course, the water jugs and ice chests are empty at present. The ice and provisions will add another 350 pounds to the payload.
After the roof load is done, I'll spend the next three days wrapping up things here, cleaning the apartment and resting. Yes, I'm hella excited, but I know my limits and I want to arrive ready to go instead of ready to drop.

Well, 2 days left to pack. Not that stressed really. A little about the flight but not as bad. Just gotta keep myself occupied or just sleep. I appreciate the input from all my fellow burners. You know who you are. Pat yourselves on the back...no really, go ahead...no one is watching.....really....come on..Oh just do it.....Ha ha ha ha caught ya. Okay sleep deprivation makes me silly.
So excuuuuuuussee meeeeeee!

Getting a little slammed...my camp leader wants to jump the thunderstorm gun and get us all there either Friday or Saturday so camp will be up and functional to shelter us from the storm.
Fortunately, I'm mostly done with my packing, so it's a possibility.

Just found out that some of my local friends are already out west. I'm just countin the hours now. Visions of the neon man are securely imbedded in my brain as I get ready for the journey home. I am looking forward to the embraces and new experiences.
Good luck to all!
See you very soon.
Love, Lorgasm
Today is my last day on the message board....until I return.

I only need to pack the bike and my tent guardian and chambre pot and I'm done with the loading. Cat sitter has been set up and the cat provisioned. I drove out to see my horse this morning with a 99.7% loaded car and I got static from drivers already
Ah! The calamity! The temerity! I'm in THEIR WAY™! The injustice of it all!
People seriously need to take a chill pill. Can't go whipping around 90 degree turns at forty when you're loaded...
My trainer wants me to take beaucoup des pix 'cause she can't wrap her head around 40,000 people converging on a dry lakebed and disappearing a week and change later. I want to show her how fantastic the City is.
Right! People, we have a mission here — to build a beautiful city! Let's get to it!

Am now so keyed up I have a headache. Went to take excedrine migrane. When I had the bottle in my hand, said to self: I better take this and the ibeprofin to the playa. Put in my bag to take home and pack.
forgot to set aside two for immediate use.
Oh yeah, my last 27 minutes of work are going to be meaningfluff.

Yea, I say unto you, at the time of the eight month of the Earth’s annual celestial journey, travelers will set upon the road on a pilgrimage to the holy city of Black Rock. And they will know each other by the burden of bicycles that they carry upon their vehicles. And that of chests for ice, poles of varying lengths and multicolored items of swag and flare. And they will greet each other with the bleep of horns and mudras of recognition. For though they come from all corners of the Earth, it be not square.
To be continued… please
(Yep, you’re right; I saw the first undeniable Burner car on the freeway, today. A bit inspiring.)

I still can't believe I packed that car all by myself in four and a half hours, got everything, provisioned myself on a $25 budget, INCLUDING A SALMON FILLET FOR $4, got the bike fixed for under $40 (Gods bless Paul's Bicycle Way of Life) and even got the laundry done.
I'm getting butterflies; I keep thinking, "God, there's so much to do!" but I remind myself, "Hey. You got a camp and an installation together, packed and loaded. It's only twelve things, it'll be a snap. You're up to it."
Saw two Burners on the fresh ingredients run in Winco tonight. They were getting carrots, I was getting a pepper. One guy had a beautiful sleeved-out tattoo on his left calf and he was saying, "Carrots! We're bringing those, aren't we?" I turned and smiled, but didn't stop to chat. I had peas and salmon and monterey jack cheese to pick up (Tillamook — $2.21 a pound!). I'm hoping that the Road Gods will smile and reconnect the three of us out on the Playa.
The chocolate fountain is getting left at home because it's the only plug-in electrical thing I'm bringing and it's not worth busting my ass carrying a 50-pound battery for just one thing. I'll make up for it by doing honey-sauteed pears with sweet Mexican chocolate for dessert one night.
Would you believe I spotted one of those S'mores making kits in Wheeler Dealer this afternoon? I sneered and kept walking. We have Cookalicious the Potbellied Dutch Oven. Heck, while we're at it — who's for a S'mores party at the Man's cinders after I get off my Temple Guardian shift? Look for a winged snow leopard around 3:15 AM Sunday morning, I'll have marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate. O, chocolate! Or just hook up with me at the Temple after midnight, and we'll kaffeeklatsch over to the Man's Pyre from there.
Ye Gods. I gotta stop. I'll be leaving Eugene in 12 hours. See you in BRC.
