What Other Fabulous Thing Should I NOT miss?
What Other Fabulous Thing Should I NOT miss?
Hey there. I'm very excited to be making my 4th trip to BM!!!! There are some old favorites I have that I'll certainly want to do again and again...but are there any fantastic things that you've done that you can recommend? What are your faves? Or are you involved in something new this year that you can tell me (and us by way of e-playa) about?
Here are my faves and recommends
Monkey chanting
Bad Idea Theater
Pancake Breafast House
Human Carcass Wash
Pizza Delivery Service
Hearing Jason Wells perform
And a big personal recommend...getting a massage by me...(I really enjoy doing bodywork out there).
Thanks for any recommendations!

I got maried at the BDC&WB, so I'll be stopping by to harrass and intimidate good ol' doc pyro.
I can't wait to visit that camp, forget the name, but they had multiple installations around the city, a horizontal blue cube that was very ... er ... moving for me. There was often a line, so I know others were also affected by their power and majesty.
I am hoping an art car pulls up to my tent with a big deisal generator thumping along, preferably as I'm trying to fall asleep.
Lots of burners thoughtfully leave little puddles in the playa, I'm guessing they pour out their libations "pour les ancestres". I'm looking forward to stepping in those again. One time I slipped and went ass over teakettle. It was wacky!
Tweaker camp is always fun.
Gosh!

Lamplighting!
Don't miss Lamplighting! Just show up at their workspace near 5:30 & Center Camp around 5:00pm any night. Sign on, robe up and light the City. It's a BLAST!
... and in the end, the love you make is equal to the love you take ~
Re: Lamplighting!
I've heard that lamplighting is a blast...but why? I know it's a cool thing to take part of for the city, and I've seen them walking down the playa in procession...but a blast? Please explain.KnowMatterWhat wrote:Don't miss Lamplighting! Just show up at their workspace near 5:30 & Center Camp around 5:00pm any night. Sign on, robe up and light the City. It's a BLAST!

I don't know about it being a "blast" per se but I really enjoyed doing it. And hopefully I'll get to do it this year. They can always use the help, if you're in the area about that time consider checking it out.

Thank you for over 7 years of eplaya memories. I have asked Emily Sparkle to delete my account and I am gone. Goodbye and Goodluck to all of you! I will miss you!

Re: Lamplighting!
There are several things that make Lamplighting especially enjoyable for me. First, the tradition (as I heard it, Larry and gang used to set a few dozen lanterns out at night to light the way to the Man -- now it 's like a 1000 lanterns hung on the spires every night throughout the City). The procession is really cool, the citizens of BRC seem to really LOVE the Lamplighters and shout it out to the the Lamplighters as they light the City. One evening, out on the Esplanade near 9:00, a group of Playa nurses came up and started making out with the Lamplighters ... Another thing that is really nice is while out enjoying the City in the middle of the night, looking at the spires twinkling in the distance, knowing you helped hang those lanterns; it's just kind of special. So, I guess it's all perspective and what you make of your burn and Playa experience ~ Enjoy ~ Know Matter Whatdav725 wrote:I've heard that lamplighting is a blast...but why?
