Where to stay in Reno *help*
Hello fellow burners!
and the problems begin… My plane arrives in Reno on the 24th (Thursday) night at 9:30pm… Im hoping to find a ride that will leave Saturday night so I can avoid the expensive stay that night at the Sans. What ever happened to the hotels with burner specials? Is the golden phoenix really closed?
Im staying on the west coast traveling from Miami for another 2 weeks… trying to save whatever I can. Does anyone know any cheap places to stay in Reno that have some type of internet and no roaches? Haha. :P
~Best wishes

Thanks. I'm getting in late Sunday night. Any thoughts on navigation from the airport to:
-- a yuppie chow store that sells Hurradurra teekillya, a wide variety of canned and potted meats and smoked fish, and Tasty Bites;
-- a camping store that has cheap camp chairs, AAA batteries, rope etc.;
-- a place to buy a cheap bike;
-- a drug store for skin and foot care products;
-- best place to stay en route to Gerlach?

blysly, coming in late Sun. will limit your choices for shopping. coming out of the airport you will be on Plumb Ln. theirs a Costco on left just past the freeway over pass. sack n save just past Costco, if you stay on Plumb Ln. going west theirs a albertsons (24hr.) couple miles from airport.
Camp store? try longs drug right next door to sac n save, they have a fair sporting goods selection. also lotions etc.
Bike, go south on Virginia from Plumb, rt. on Kietzke Wally world, Sam's club another sporting goods place.
Place to stay on your way to Gerlach? you must be kidding! Try the Wild Horse Saloon & Brothel off I-80 on the right

I found something
The sans was giving me prices in the 3 digits for saturday night...
Thankfuly I came across the nice people at the Wildflower Villiage bed and breakfast. they have rooms for $50 a night that have stoves... thats it... thats all I need to be happy right about now.
Being right across from the river is just a super plus. If anyone needs the link here it is!

I am even tempted to take the champagne breakfast because of how much I will save not staying at the sans... but yah I have a lot more traveling to do. :shock:

even though you won't actually give the driver cash, sometimes the cost of a shuttle service will get added to your hotel bill, though. better check first on this, to see if they will charge.hunter S wrote:blyslv, do yourself a favor & catch a shuttle van to the Sands or Circus Circus. it will save you $$ scuttle is free room rates down town are better. If your renting a car at the airport it's a ten min. drive down town.
Just a thought!
