This place is feeling more and more like a ghost town by each passing hour. And I can't leave until Sunday night at the earliest.
Oh well, that gives me more time to find mixers to bring and pick up last minute stuff.
Good morning Pinemom, Bin, Z, Mozy, and anyone else still here.

Naw, old railroad water stop, the town just assembled itself around the UP, and like any other town which no longer caters to the railroad, is drying up. I live in Ogden, essentially a grand-scale ex-railroad town, and even though we're 100,000+, you can still see where the old railroad prosperity has ended and nothing else has taken its place.
morning guys, Lorgasm and i had a great time last night with BigCock. great gentleman. thank you BigCock for spendint the time with us. we will give a hug and a kiss to our fellow burners for you.
thank god for the powers that look out for us and guide us through this wild ride to find out that there is life afterwards.
heehaw. anyone seen my spit cup?BigCock wrote:No shit. It's a monument to antisocialist redneckness, now completely comandeered by hypersocial freaks. You wonder why only Flash has been shot.

Replace the word "railroad" with some other industry or line of work, and you've just described almost anywhere in the US right now. Chicago never really bounced back from the Stock Market Crash of 1987, the Bay Area looks like it is not going to ever recover from tech outsourcing, etc.AntiM wrote:Naw, old railroad water stop, the town just assembled itself around the UP, and like any other town which no longer caters to the railroad, is drying up. Makes sense - if you're going to be poor no matter where you go, you might as well be poor in a place with scenery. There really is nothing to relocate for, any more, anyway. Where is the sense in pulling up roots and maybe walking away from family and social connections and possibly equity, to pursue a job that may get sent to Bangladesh tomorrow, leaving one stranded, destitute and alone?

This is seeming pretty unreal, not being on the road, no car troubles, no stiff back from being behind the wheel for days , no trying to spot Burners on the interstate,....weird. and on Monday I’m going to take the city bus to the airport it’s been maybe a decade since I’ve been on a bus, so add time travel to my trip planner.

Hey, BoxB, Joel, BC. Zule - pop open one of those dusty ones? Talked to PineMom and RockDad last night. She was still sewing. Koosh and Fishy and Mozy and Linda hadn't arrived yet. Lots of excitement. RD will be taking lots of pictures. BC - when are you and the hen leaving on your anniversary trip?
