thanks to everyone on this forum!
I just wanted to say thanks you to everyone contributing to this message board. This year was my first burn, and thanks to this board and some very nice campmates I was perfectly prepared. In fact, some oldtimers even complimented me on how well I was prepared. Reading this board beforehand certainly has helped me a lot at knowing what to expect, what to bring and what not to bring (lesson learnt: deodorant sticks melt, don't bring them). The last few days were the most mind blowing experience of my life and I can clearly say that the friendly people of this forum did their great share at helping me getting the best from my virgin burn.

Awesome Stew, good for you poo. Congratulations. It's new folks like you who make a crusty ol' burner like me rejoice. Thank you for bringing your wonder and joy to the Playa. And definitely THANK YOU for being prepared and interacting so well. NOW... if we could get the other 5,000 or so fucktards who have no clue to read the dang information...we'd really have accomplished something. For your final mission Stew, no matter how excited you are...don't tell ANYONE about Burning Man, okay? Our little secret okay? What happens on the Playa stays in Vegas okay?
(wait-a-minute, that last "fucktard" bit of poison sounded like Bitterman...but...Bitterman's dead? Isn't he? AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!)

mine never melt. I keep them in a mesh bag deep in a pile of clothes and towels in my tent. maybe that keeps them insulated from the peak heat of the day.
