the reno exodus, motels and breakfast

We left the playa Sunday night after the temple and waffle burn. It was my first year driving through Reno (both previous times through Oregon). The drive was fine, but arriving in Reno all motels and even the fancy casino hotel rooms were absolutely full. I wish someone told me to go to Carson City right away, it had plenty of space just twenty minutes away.

We had breakfast at Heidi's ( http://www.foodcandy.com/PlaceView.aspx?id=352 ). It was very satisfying, thank you.

What's your favorite exodus breakfast?

Psssssst...before and after BM, the town of Reno is usually booked with Burners. Please take note.

We stayed in Carson City the night we left and then went over 50 to Lake Tahoe for a lovely green/blue few days at the Montbleu which had a great internet room special and huge whirpool bathtubs. It was nearly empty mid-week.

We kayaked on the lake and recovered.

We also went over to Tahoe for the night...after we stopped in Nixon and took some much needed showers at the high school gym...THANK YOU to the lovely people working there in Nixon and serving the food also offered there as well as car washes and the showers, they were so friendly and smiling at all us dirty little burners...
Anyways...we enjoyed the hot tub and indoor pool in Tahoe terribly!! Was a nice little pit stop before heading home. I'll be following the same "game plan" next year.

it takes a few days around the event for the vacancies to open in reno. except for the occasional uberconvention reno does not have a problem with available rooms.

must have something to do with being a graveyard where celebrities show to die.

I got a bang-up carwash for a $5 donation in Alturas. Eight kids and their coach converged with soap and hoses flying, sudsed up the Nephthys Navajo, then sent us to another bank of eight kids who dried her off and left her spotless!

Glad I held off, Eagleville wanted $10 flat. How was the food in Eagleville? Any NW Passage Burners reporting?
