I'm not going primarily for the sex but I do want sex to be a part of the experience, as it'll be my first.
I'm a 20 year old guy, so I guess it's not all that surprising. I'd really like to meet someone new, (maybe a guy with a nice smile, or nice skin- or a girl with deep eyes and power to pull the tides of my blood) have a companion to smoke with, gaze at the sky.
I'm going all on my lonesome, and will be camping on my own, probably- so it's vital that I meet some new faces.
So... it's not why I'm going, but I'm definitely planning on giving my body some love.

First Burning Man, you mean? Or will you be a Double Virgin or "Vee-Squared"? Just remember to bring protection- Goggles and a dust mask. Possibly kneepads.sacred573 wrote:I'm not going primarily for the sex but I do want sex to be a part of the experience, as it'll be my first.

Id be happy to find a girl to talk dirty to me.
I go to get blitzed, work, have fun, and explore. BM is what you make of it. For me it seems like a waste for me to try and get laid. I can do that the rest of the year, cant drink Pomegranate Mojtos gifted to me by a man in a space suit, in a cozy little bar on the outskirts very often though.

I'm still not convinced, although it's been true for me at times. I think women are more sensitive to context (broadly speaking) and (again, broadly speaking) women have sex when they are relaxed and men have it when they want to relax.
My advice to the women out there. Let him seduce you now and then. It is fun and you'll miss it when he's gone.

I have been to the Burningman, single, three times and I "hooked up" with two beautiful young ladies (The first time I went, I was too drunk to have sex. Yes, you heard me). I have to admit, I did go with the attitude of, "if I can't get laid here, I can't get laid anywhere" and I have to say that it defiantly hurt my experience at Burningman.
Burningman is about the art and the people. It is not about the drugs, the booze or the sex. Yes, if done in moderation, they help in someway, but if you think Burningman is about anything else but art and people, you will not maximize your good times. It took me three years to figure that out and I know I lost a few days at the event when I could have been having the best time of my life.
When I started to focus on the event then I started having the time of my life. It was no longer about the dick telling me to go out and get laid, but about my mind and spirit showing me that the art and the people are the best thing there.
However, I will admit, that I met a very cool, beautiful young lady who made me feel very good about myself. At the time, I happen to be still recovering from an ex-girlfriend that I missed sorely and wanted to take to Burningman. She just reminded me that I am no longer an overweight person (Lost 70 pounds or so) and that I can find someone again. Also, watching a beautiful woman ride the Gasso Orgasmatron is very cool and some thing I will never forget!
This year, I bought a ticket for my girlfriend and I hope that I can take her and if I don't, I won't even care if I get laid or not. To me, Burningman is about art and the people and nothing else.

Here Here! I completely agree. I'm pretty sure I am one of the young, moderately attractive females who could get laid at the drop of a hat on the playa, but thats not what Burningman is for! I met quite a few attractive men, slept with none of them, and had a fabulous time. It's good to hear that at least some of them might have valued talking to me and didn't have the expectation of sex :)
Much respect and appreciation goes out to all the wonderful gentlemen who go for the art and the people and don't harass us ladies. There is nothing wrong with friendly flirting, but arriving with the expectation that you're going to get laid really isn't the best way to have fun.
If you meet someone you really click with, then wonderful! But otherwise, go for the art, the experience, and the truly interesting people of all ages and genders you will meet.

Does anyone have a problem with this or is it just me?
Still sticking to that old line. We know you're only 30!AntiM wrote: Of course, my advice back when I was in my 20s would have been entirely different, do what you will (safely) and keep your mouth shut, no need to hurt the ones you love. Sigh, I am a much different person thse days!
