FREE to GOOD HOME! Motorized Skateboard "PlayaBoard&quo

Post by slideleft » Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:12 am

Hello fellow Burners,
I just posted my PlayaBoard on Craigslist as a Freebie (to a GOOD home). I REALLY want the right person to end up with this (because it deserves it), so please forward this message to anyone you think might be well suited.
Hope you are all well.

How hard would it be to rip the motor out and convert the whole thing to electric? If the motor needs a bunch of work wouldn't that be better in the long run? And a lot nicer (quieter) on the playa.

re- Conversion to electric

Steven,
Conversion to electric would be cool, but not very practical. Rear wheel is integral to transmission/motor... It COULD be done, but a rebuilt Honda 50 is pretty clean and very quiet.

Sorry, but I gotta say that I HATE those goddarned things. If the motor's good, then turn it to some other practical purpose, besides wheeling some lazy single person around. A good purpose for small gas motors is to power blowers for BIG fires. Think about it, hit me back if you need help.

Not my kind of thing but great work on the machine. Do they make a diesel engine small enough to convert it to run on veggie oil? I prefer pedal power for BM but can understand the need for Rangers to have powered vehicles. You all do a great job helping people and are greatly appreciated.
