Fogal
This is more than a gadget. One reference mentioned instantaneous communication. The listed possibilities are really impressive. I'd like to see more proof.

It's not electronic, but I didn't want to start a new thread.

It looks BRC ready. 20 K for a 6 hp portable tent is a bit high.

A small pocket jammer along with that nifty little IR device for shutting off TV's covertly from a distance is an absolutely wonderful combination. Not that I would know about the absolute havoc those two cause.cowboyangel wrote:cell phone jammers..somewhere here last year there was a lengthy topic about this

This is a quote from a report. Maybe they have something that would fix 3 playa
"Komisaruk is even suggesting a technological fix for arousal problems - a neurobiofeedback machine that could help women learn to be superorgasmic. The future can't come soon enough."

It's funny to see this thread pop up here; literally right b4 sitting down at the computer I was reading a funny little newspaper article a friend cut out for me - about a book that collected a few hundred news stories from around the world of drunken antics. This is timed, I suppose, for newyears, the point being that you could pick this book up when you're hungover and regretful on NY's day and read some of the mindblowingly stupid things some drunken people have done over the years and ease your mind a bit.
But anyways, on the first page of the thread someone mentioned 46,000 web pages out there regarding drunken Russian soldiers - one of the articles cited in the book, and article, was of some Russian soldiers in the 80's who traded one of their tanks to Cheychen (sp.?) rebels for more booze (yeah, they'd already had some , i assume).
I can't remember the exact name of the book but it's long and odd, something about a drunk person scaring a shark to death.
& btw - http://www.lonestartek.net/weird.htm - what a weird fucking site. is it credible, does anyone know?

Happy new year everybody. Here's something that could save a few soldiers;
THE HOLOGRAPHIC BATTLEGROUND
(Sources: THE SUNDAY MORNING HERALD & THE SUNDAY MAIL (BRISBANE) via NEXUS, Aug-Sept/97)
The U.S. Congress has just approved funding for the Army to develop a laser that projects life-size hologram decoys of troops and tanks. It is predicted that within 10 years, many of the troops and ordinance seen by enemy units on the battlefield will be nothing more than 3D laser-generated images. According to U.S. defense consultant Brenda Mark, "Anyone looking at the target area will think the U.S. Army has a major presence there, when, in fact, there will be nothing but empty space." One bizarre application of what has been dubbed the "Ghost Gun," is that the hologram projector could also be used to generate images of individuals speaking and gesturing, like the President, the Pope, or the leader of a foreign power, which, when seen from a distance, would be indistinguishable from the real thing. U.S. Army scientist Dr. Gary Wood, who is leading the project at the ARMY RESEARCH LABORATORY in Adelphi, Maryland comments, "One of the scenarios is Saddam Hussein standing on his balcony telling troops to lay down their arms. We are well on the way to perfecting it." (JG)

Could you imagine the MONEY that the gov could make if it perfected the "hologrid"
Even Riker admitted to having rescued various alien princesses on the holodeck.
Of course, the end result would be that if you could create a world that you considered perfect,,,,you would tend to abandon the real one.
Birthrates go down where TV is introduced. Imagine what a Holoworld would do to population.
Dan
OPINION; what would you say would be the greatest single attraction of a tangible Holoworld??????
1. Travel to any destination concievable
2. sex with any being you could imagine
3. meet any person from history
4. "live" any incident in history
5. faux death experience
6. I don't think that food and drugs could be on the menu
It's a short list because I'm not very inspired this morning

*peeks in, seems safe enough* Thanks. I was hoping I'd get invited back. Didn't know if this was an all guys' club or what. Girls like making things too. I love gadgets, projects, power tools, getting dirty building things.bx1 wrote:No come back! estrogen=goodMonkeypoo wrote:**peeks in, looks around, looks up the website with the really cool VW Home, has to leave quickly because the level of testosterone is really thick in here**

What a fun project that would be to find one and restore one!! ...paint flames on it, put in tie-dyed curtains, make it all cozy and comfy and cute, stock the kitchen, have a tricked out stereo put in it, take it to Yosemite (er, I mean Burning Man!)
