Its a shame some places preying on the desparate. If I do get a letter or call from this place that advises me that my potential employer wants a drug screen I'm gonna get the employer's name and go directly to her/him and ask exactly who asked for this then advise the employer that the agency is charging me $200.00 for this and that they are also the lab people. I smell class action law suit.
I do not think a law suit would fly. Scenario:

Employer does not want to spend his own time screening applicants. So an agency is found who, for a small fee, will find suitable applicant that meets requirements given by employer. Employer also requires that applicants hired must pass a drug screen that is to be provided by the agency. The agency contracts with a local medical facility to get drug screens done at a discount rate. Then passes the charge on to the applicant along with a hefty fee for services rendered. (providing a place for you to get a drug screen done without having to set an appointment). Since all employers now require a drug screen for new employees they are garranteed getting the service fee.

Kind of sucks but what can you do?

I'll tell you what you can do! Tell the universe/cosmos that you want this job, be grateful that the right job is already there waiting for you, think positive and smile. Soon the job will come to you.

Sending positive waves your way.

BoxB
what State do you live in? In CA if an employer requires a pre-screening drug test or any testing they have to pay for it.
It only seems kinky the first time...

I am in Utah.

But the employer did pay for it. It was included in the fee the employer paid to the agency.

Boker Tov is Hebrew for 'good morning'

Actually, the origin of matza ball soup comes from the bible story where King David unmanned and slew the fierce warrior G'Nad Testicocolus, of the nation of Matza. The Israelites went on to victory in the ensuing battle. A great feast was held at which each man cast his battle 'trophies' in a pot of boiling chicken broth. Each was given a fig tree, three wives and an ass according to the number of Matza balls he cast into the pot.

I get any of that wrong, Jewel?

I think it was an olive tree and 5 wives, but you're definitely correct about the ass

The spark has simply lit a fire that needed to burn.

It's going to be messy for me for a while.

Wish me luck.

Oh and a beer would be nice.
