How many piercings can the human body sustain?

This woman just won the Guiness World Record for most piercings in one body.

Anyone care to guess what the absolute limit is? Would it kill you eventually?

The Elaine Davidson phenomenon is a well-known internet hoax. Those 'piercings' are merely glued to her body surfaces ala Steve Martin's arrow-through-the-head.

The most recent research by the International Association of Immunology Specialiasts (IAIS) indicates that until significant advances in both metallurgy and immunological engineering occur, piercings are the stuff of science-fiction and dreams.

I know somebody who had 25 piercings in one ear, 26 in the other...so that picture is not beyond the realm of belief for me.

As for me, I hate piercings for some reason. Tattoos are fine, but piercings just turn me off.

I can believe that if Kinetic's friend had over 50 on ears alone.

Actually it wasn't a friend, it was my mother of all people. At 56 she got a rebellious streak and had tattoos and piercings done. At one point she had the 25/26 in the ears, and she even tried a tongue piercing....but that came out.

It's bad when my mother has more tattoos and piercings than her son does. And my sister at 15 has her belly button and tongue done...I'm like thanks but no thanks. Some people like it...I don't.

I finally removed my last piercing (save my ears and the hidden septum post in my nose) when I got sent to secondary at LAX and had to pull up my skirt and then some, just to prove I didn't have a boxcutter taped to my inner thigh or something.

The piercing honestly wasn't that interesting to me, anyway.

I enjoy body art very much, but not beyond a reasonable amount. I mean a tongue stud begs to be kissed, or a ring in the nose looks exotic but there's no need for all that metal.

I've had my eyebrow, cartilige, and nose pierced and it made me feel more like myself. I would have a different opinion if I had Kinetic's mother however.

14 grams seems to be about average for a nipple piercing.

Times 1,903 piercings.

Approximately 58.7 pounds...
give or take depending on how big or small they all get.

I'm just thinking back to when I was 14, which was before the age of exotic and multiple piercings. I remember being lost in a reverie one day as I gazed at the simple gold hoops my friend, Wendy, wore in each ear lobe; and the way her hair flowed around and through each one. In that moment she seemed more graceful, more quietly feminine, more trancendently beautiful than all the love songs written in all of history could ever express.

I'm have no idea how many piecings a human body can sustain; but Wendy stole my heart with just two.
