Getting to BM from the UK
Halloo, I was wondering whether anyone from the UK could tell me how difficult/expensive it is to get to BM? I'm wondering whether it's financially feasible. Thanks.
If you have the money, it's certainly financially feasible.
Take a look at

and see if you can find a Burner local to you.

It cost me about £1500 this year, that was flights (£500) and hire car (£200) included (Just don't tell them where the car is going)
I flew into Vegas and then drove up from there, took me about 8 hours. It may sound a long drive but it was actually quite pleasant!
Get all your food and water in Reno and then its just under 2 hours to BRC.
I was alone when I went this year so if there are people for you to travel with then it will obviously be cheaper. If you are alone I would suggest trying to hook up with a theme camp before you go. It made things a lot easier for me in that I knew who I would be camping with before I got there and so gives you the chance to make some friends before throwing yourself in at the deep end!
Burning Man was the best thing I ever did and I am definately going back next year!
If you have any other questions then feel free to PM me

You don't need a license to drive a sandwich
I'll second nooganoodle's advice about camping with others. 2006 was my first year and I camped by myself. I think it would have been better if I hadn't. Other people might tell you when you are getting too much sun, make setting up quicker, might tell you when you aren't getting enough water, etc.
Well, I've got to get to work...
blupe.

whoa oFZo, $3k is way expensive but thats because you are flying to santa barbara. my guess is there are much cheaper routes so flying from say.. london is not going to be nearly as much.
and its best to hook up and talk with people who have been through it from the uk, they can help you with tips like supplies, sharing rides, good camps to start out..

I think I spend a total of 1100 Euro's on my trip this year. I'm from Holland too, and ordered my ticket in november 2005. I flew from Brussels to Atlanta, Atlanta to San Fransisco. Cost me around 480 euro's I believe (massive waiting times
). Then around 185 dollars for the BM ticket and around 400 cash dollars to do stuff while in the US (camp dues, gas money, shopping, etc). Totals around 1100, 1200.
